Today, I take you to Buea, give you a mini tour of the University of Buea and we hang around in the city of Buea. I try the legendary 48 spices and it's an all around chill day.

IMPORTANT INFO:
Process for collecting your certificate from University of Buea (Withdrawal):
- Go to receipt office and ask for a ‘Withdrawal form’
- Fill the withdrawal form and deposit at the receipt office along with a copy of your attestation of school completion, a copy of your ID card and the fee. If collecting on behalf of someone, you also need a signed letter of authorisation from that person (procurement document/power of attorney)
- The fee: 1000frs for next day processing and 2000frs for same day processing
- The receipt office will issue a receipt and instruct you on where to to collect your certificate. Here, I was sent to my faculty.

😂😂😂 I don't know if it's because my faculty was small or what but I went through less stress in UB than when I was schooling in South Africa. 10 times less stress. But maybe it's also the wahala that comes with being an international student.

FET has a new building, but it is in the "bush" ,as my sister loves to put it😂. When I tell you she DREADS all the walking she has to do every morning! There's no "let me quickly go print this" in that new building oh. You will walk MILES! 😂 In UB, one thing is sure, YOU WILL BURN THOSE CALORIES! (even the ones that don't need burning 😂)

Congratulations Moea! It has been 8 years since I lived in Buea so I have no idea what areas are good in Buea these days. I think the best way to choose a place to live is to actually see the available options on ground. A day’s trip to Buea with relative or friend might be worth it to scout for places to stay. If you visit any buildings you like, ask the students you find there how things are in terms of water supply, security etc. Also consider how much transportation to UB might cost. Those who live near school can walk to school. If you live a bit far from school, it might be tricky.

Ahh that’s true! It was printed either last year or in 2021. I graduated in 2015 so I’ve been using my attestation of school completion to apply for higher education, jobs etc. Most people who graduate from UB do not get their certificates in the same year. Forgot to explain that bit. Thanks for asking ✨✨

Hahaha even the 5 fingers on our hands stand at different lengths. But I assure you, having studied engineering both in a Cameroonian uni and in a South African uni, the infrastructure here may still be coming up but the education I got here in my undergrad was solid and I had no deficits in terms of subject matter when I got to SA.

Our tuition fees are heavily subsidized (we pay about 50,000 frs per year... That should be about 100 USD... in fact the expensive part of going to uni in Cameroon is the cost of living... rent, food, books etc) so I guess they actually do need to collect money to run and maintain the shuttle. There was no shuttle my first 3 years at the school. We walked everywhere and it was finally introduced in my 4th year. Imagine how grateful we were! Hahaha
