I absolutely love all of your decorations. The oyster tree is lovely and the ribbon on top was beautiful. I think I would go with just the white wooden garland on the big tree. I think the Christmas tree would look lovely with one pop of colour. It doesn't have to be anything too wild, perhaps a gold or maroon? You could even make more of those baking soda ornaments and paint them!

Love this video! Anytime you decorate/craft, I’m obsessed! For trees with kids- we have multiple trees- one big then small ones in each kids’ room. That way they can decorate how they want on their own tree and I can decorate mine. Plus no kids fighting between what goes where 😂👏🏻🙋🏼‍♀️

I love your decorations. I do like lights above your little nook, but not scraggly like that. Maybe some snowflakes or stars you could buy with lights already on them. Or if you have fairy lights already wrap them around stars or snowflakes. My favorite, I love the mirror behind the trees. ❤

I hate mismatching decor on the tree! It looks like a pile of garbage, and when there's too much going on, nothing stands out in a way in can be appreciated anyway. It just makes the space feel so chaotic and unrestful. Even when I have kids I'm going to get the clear glass balls than you can fill with stuff and give them art supplies in a cohesive color pallet that I've chosen in advance. It doesn't have to be plain neutral sad beige, but it's going to be intentional, then I'm also going to use the same color palette for the gift wrapping and other decor throughout the house. We can still have fun and be festive and creative without creating clutter or an atmosphere of stress

Well, to each their own, right? I love my tree filled with 20 years of memories of my kid…her infant foot prints, her reindeer antler handprints, and those that highlight the activities she participated in over the years (band, theater, sports, Girl Scouts, gymnastics, college, etc.) & the places that we’ve been. It is a yearly walk down Memory Lane. It may not be “aesthetic”, but it is so joyful! 🎄

As a child, I had difficulty concentrating on my schoolwork and was overwhelmed with stress because of it. The atmosphere did not foster peace or prosperity. Cleanliness is next to godliness because our path toward Him is clear when it's not cluttered by the past. When there's so much going on everywhere, nothing stands out. When we create a clean and simple space, we have a backdrop on which we can highlight two or three things that we want to spend time appreciating. We can rotate these three items on a regular basis so that each receives due appreciation without creating overwhelm and unrest. Physical photo albums are another great way to preserve all of your memories in an organized way. The holidays are already chaotic enough with all the events going on. My home is the one restful space I have to turn to.

Fun ideas - you've inspired me! I'm of the opinion that you need to sprinkle some red and/or green in there. Like, maybe, a small tartan ribbon around a couple of the candles and a few red bobbles in the greenery on the stairs. Just a smidge.

the oyster trees!!! they're so simple but show-stopping (and I don't hate the ribbon!). aside from those, I think the garland on the stairs is my favorite. well, the coffee/bar nook is probably my fav part of the house so I'm biased, but still!
