Hey Tajah! I know how you feel about getting braces! I got my braces when I was 23 and got them taken out last year when I was 25. It went by so fast and it has increased my confidence so much. I had an overbite as well. I feel it’s worth the short sacrifice for the long term effects! Happy to hear that your dad, his wife and your brother were able to relocate to the states. Praying for Haiti ❤️. Braces are so different from Invisalign I would definitely shop around and look into other orthodontists being than most consultations are free. You shouldn’t have to get braces if you don’t want to. We have so many patients now in Invisalign who are in elastics because we’re adjusting their bite. I’m an orthodontic assistant and do ortho videos every Tuesday, I’ll try to do one on Invisalign soon 🥰

Fyi they have inbrace (braces behind your teeth) I currently have them & love the fact that my teeth and bite is being corrected but you can’t see them. I go to black owned orthodontist here in Charlotte. They also do Invisalign where they add buttons for the rubberband on your Invisalign trays to fix the bite. Look into that.

Does it cause you to have a lisp at all? I feel like something behind the teeth would cause speech impediments. I had braces when I was younger but I want to get them again to correct my bite but I’m getting old 😭

Hey Tajah! You are literally my favorite KZbinr… I have been following you for some time now. I always comment on your vlogs, I’m so glad to hear and see that your family is well. I was just telling my mom about you and saying that I hope everything was ok with you. Im not on any social media other than KZbin. I know that your from Haiti 🇭🇹 and every time something happens over there thoughts 💭 of you run across my mind. It broke my heart! to see you crying pretty girl. Im so sorry for all the things that are going on in your country… I know God never puts more on us than we can bare, please stay strong 💪🏽 and I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers… things will be ok. Meanwhile, I also wanted to let you know that I had braces 😬 twice! Once in middle school to college and then when I was 35 to 37. I lost my retainers the first time and my teeth shifted back, so make sure when you get them removed you wear those retainers. Braces themselves is not so bad, when their tighten up by the orthodontist 🦷 your mouth will be sore for a few days, take some pain pills and eat soft foods, you’ll be alright. A few things I liked about my braces was the color rubber bands I got to wear, the fact that they made my lips 👄 look bigger 😂, and the beautiful 😍 smile it left me with. Disadvantage of them was the pain, the money 💵, and my teeth and gums are so sensitive. One of the issues I’m having is bleeding 🩸 gums, I think I need to get my retainers readjusted which I plan to do asap. I just wanted to share my experience with you; I hope it helped.
