Prayers that it is an easy surgery and recovery. Two people in my family have had the surgery and were pretty much recovered in 6 - 8 weeks. I also had fibroids and by some miracle was able to shrink them on my own, so didn't need the surgery.

Hi Natalie! I had open myo too and it was a breeze so don’t feel it the end, recovered fairly quickly I was doing exercise (v gentle) 2 weeks post op and running on week 7. Never had kids so cannot comment on pregnancy post op, plenty of successful stories, tons of support groups on FB. Best decision to have it done I would def ask for 2nd opinion as I have heard of robotic myo even on large fibroids, always down to surgeon skill and the gyno you speak to. Fab clinics in London. Do your research ❤❤ If there was something that helped me was definitely walking! I’m surprised she told you not to. You will find that after the op walking about will get your bowel movement going and prevent clots!!!! I was 42 when I had the op. Even though I am a firm believer in doing what the docs order you need to listen to your body and take one day at the time, meditate, eat well, move. I had a 12cm removed and many other smaller ones. Check those groups as they will give you a better and sunnier outlook!!! Big hug xx

Heyyy, thank you so much for taking the time to send me a message. It is honestly so wonderful to meet people that have had the same operation - I actually didn’t think further than sharing my story on here. I didn’t realise that I would have so many people send me a message who had had the operation and honestly it is been so beautiful to speak to people that have had the same operation. I really am grateful for your message.I had never heard of the robot option so I would definitely give that a research. I haven’t had my operation yet as my blood count has been too low sadly so it is scheduled for a couple weeks time. I am glad to hear the operation went well for you and you have positive comments about it. I will definitely start walking as soon as I can and listen to my body. Thank you again for sending me a message it has meant a lot to me. Xx

Sending prayers your way🩷. I've had the same surgery, It is basically a c-section. I was not mentally prepared for the downtime and physical impacts. Look into natural ways to shrink fibroids with castor oil packs in case they grow back after the surgery.

@NataleBeckles I was out for 2-3 months. Complete healing can take 2 years as your scar fades. Give yourself grace as you heal it is a major surgery. My body thought it was 3 months pregnant due to the fibroids. It takes time for hormones and the body to adjust. A waist cincher postpartum (Amazon) will help the air added (from surgery) come down. If you are a side sleeper, it will take time for you to be able to. Not to be gross, but since they move your organs around, you will feel them move when trying to lay on your sides. It takes time for them to settle back in place. Wishing you the best recovery! We will be here when you're ready to return.

@NataleBeckles Also, I went on walks every couple of hours. It helps get the surgery air out and improve circulation. Talk to your doctor in depth about the healing process since everyone is different. In the US, it was suggested to return to full physical activity in 6-7 weeks.

Hi. Just watched your video. Thanks for sharing. I had a myo a few years ago. I had to take 6 weeks off from work. Post op I was in pain for a little while. I couldnt carry anything heavy even a kettle. I couldnt go to the gym either. I went back to work too early. I got as far as the tube station and was exhausted. I went back home. I lost weight as I didnt feel like eating. I felt much better once I had fully recovered. Unfortunately years later my fibroids have come back. Good luck with your op .x

I had my fibroids removed December privately thank God for my Job. Let down by the NHS initially discharged from their care stated to return when I wanted to have a hysterectomy, only option given to me. I’m older but want to have the option to have kids one day if the opportunity arose. My fibroids grew so quick to the point that they were protruding causing pressure, heavy periods and severely anaemic. I had 6 removed largest was 10cm which was at the back of my uterus which was causing me to have bowel issues. I had an open myomectomy, and was up and about in a short period of time. Returned to work in 4 weeks. I would not recommend that because I sit in front of a computer for my job. My surgeon was amazing and did an amazing job and was so encouraging never once brought up a hysterectomy. Good luck with your surgery, you got this.

Wow, that is madness what the NHS offered. I had always thought that they would offered the surgery, but it would be a long wait. Honestly, I am so grateful for the private healthcare and my job for being able to have it. It’s moments like this but really put everything into perspective so quickly. we sound like we have similar fibroids as I have 6 tooand the amount of pressure that I have to feel has quite unbearable. Sadly, I’ve had my operation pushed back as I am severely anaemic as well waiting for my blood count to come up.

Thank you for all your advice as well-how long does it take for you to get the hot and walking again? Has I’m hoping that I can be walking as soon as possible-just to get my physical and mental health back up after the surgery? Overall you happy that you had the surgery? Sorry for all the questions. It’s just so lovely to meet someone who has also been through the same thing. Honestly, thank you so much for messaging xx

@@NataleBeckles not a problem at all I am happy to answer any questions you have. My surgeon put me on Zoladex for 3 months that stopped my periods and got my bloods to normal. I had to take my iron pills regularly as well. I was encouraged to walk soon after surgery next day after they removed my catheter the nurse said I had to walk, it’s for circulation and to stop blood clots from forming. I was walking, but also listened to my body and rested when I felt tired (walked around the house). During the day I felt absolutely fine but at night I was in a little pain and discomfort I just took paracetamol One week post surgery, they had given me something stronger but I refused to take them, not a fan of pills but the paracetamol worked for me. I was very scared because I had never had any medical procedures done, but I am so happy I had it done. My quality of life has improved. I couldn’t walk long distances before or even exercise because the fibroids were so big and causing pressure and pain on my right leg, couldn’t wear certain clothing because if it presses up against my belly it made me feel sick. My bowel issues have resolved (tmi). 😊

No problem at all happy to answer any questions. I thought I had commented but can’t see my comment. I was also severely anaemic and my surgeon put me on zoladex for 3 months which stopped my periods and helped my bloods get to normal. I also had to take Iron tablets religiously. He said he would not operate at the level my numbers were at, too dangerous. After surgery they had me walking soon after. I had my op 11/12 and 12/12 the nurse took the catheter out and encouraged me to walk around. It’s to help with circulation and prevent blood clots. My recovery went well no issues at all. I was prescribed strong pain meds but didn’t take them, after I left hospital I just took paracetamol. I was walking around the house. I was ok during the day however it was at night that the pain and discomfort would come. I couldn’t settle. Make sure you have loads of pillows. I honestly felt ok by the end of week one 80% . I am so happy I had them removed it has helped tremendously with my quality of life and mental health because prior to surgery I couldn’t walk long distances due to the pressure in my pelvic area that caused me to have pain down my right leg. At an ultra sound scan my uterus measured at 20 weeks which is like being 5 months pregnant. I couldn’t wear things like jeans as they would press up against the fibroid and make me feel sick. My bowel issues have resolved (TMI). Overall I feel amazing. The thought of getting surgery was very scary but I watched a lot of videos on KZbin and read comments of other ladies that had it done and it gave me hope. You got this xx
