Soooo check it. lol. My dad is a pastor and I am a firm believer of tithing. On the other hand, people see what my parents have and think that he is getting this big salary and taking others funds not knowing he stopped taking a salary from the church yearsssss ago. My dad worked and pastored for over 30 years. My mom worked as well, so they have what they have because of working hard and being a good steward over their funds (budgeting and not trying to “keep up with the jones”). There has been times I have not given my full tithing amount because I have paid other things or helped someone else out. Doesn’t mean I will be blessed any less or he loves me any less. Do what you feel like God has placed on your heart and as long as it’s genuine, you’re fine. Continue to do Gods work and the blessings will continue to flow! ❤️

Love this. & I’m not saying all pastors misuse the church money but what I’m saying is you give & give to these churches and they all about helping the community but when you actually need help. They can’t help you. What qualifications qualify you to be helped. They say they help all these other countries but it’s ppl at they front door who is in need. I’m not saying they obligated to help but if I’m faithful person who gives, then why can’t I be helped.? I guess I’m used to smaller churches, where it’s really about community. When ppl was in need, they didn’t get turned away. I’m forever giving anyway I can.

@@ItssCortthat part! 😊. That’s why I adore our church and what we do for and in our community and our members….especially the ones who tithe. Even the ones that do not, my dad still gives. We all at some point will fall short and should be able to rely on our community. Whatever that looks like. I’m a firm believer, the more you give the more you receive. And not all the time in a monetary fashion. Sometimes we just need peace of mind or good health. So, you’re doing the right thing!

Man made tithes about money and materialistic things. It's supposed to be about loving and helping each other when there's a need and not financing someone's lifestyle.

Paying tithes can be all of the above. For example, at the hotel property I work at is close to the downtown area, so there's a lot of homeless people and I normally, would fix them a plate of food, or give water/coffee. It doesn't necessarily have to be a money thing to me. I often tip as well so, definitely agree with you on that.

Tithing is not just for the church building. It’s for the people of God. I split my tithe up church, people, my household. (We are God’s people and have needs) like if our kids have a need, we give it to them out of our church fund. Which is most our tithing money. When people call us for money, we give it to them out of that. 🙏🏽💕
