Don't let your wheels define you. You are not your wheel chair. You are an intelligent strong person. I understand hard days... Believe me I do. My disabilities are invisible but I am in severe pain most of my days. I tried to take my life 8 years ago. Never give up!! I am ashamed I got that low that I let myself think that was ok. Keep fighting! You are amazing!

hey, after watching your video i’d like to share some things and give words of advice. i’ve never been able to move or feel my lower body since i was 6 years old. its almost a decade later and i can tell you that if you keep doing what you’re doing, you will see progress and overcome being in a wheelchair. in the meantime, enjoy what you have and love what you do to keep any negative thoughts out. after being told i had to rely on a wheelchair for the rest of my life, i always had a downside look on my future but after discovering sports, i’ve become happy in what i’m doing and because of that, its helped me become more independent everyday. just by doing something that you enjoy, it will boost your mindset. progressing in a goal you want to achieve is a great outlet to give yourself something to work towards to. thanks, and keep showing your progress! have a nice day/night (:

hey better than me man! keep it up!! I had to stop using a standing frame - they told me that i need to chill a bit, and to avoid any activities that put load on my lumbar spine. otherwise im gonna end up needing a fusion.. I miss the standing power chair!!! but hey! you can get upright without any of that, so seriously...keep it up man!! it may not seem like much to you, but IT IS! :^)

I hope that you can get back to the standing frame and any kind of exercise that you can do. Hang in there.

Hi Ian, i totally understand your struggle. It sucks being in your situation and for all those who have the same or worse. Please be strong and try sometimes to have fun. You work hard and sometimes you also need to make fun. Go out with your wife/girlfriend and enjoy as much if you can. I am familiair with depression and those moments Will not go away. Love sabrina

Thank you Sabrina. Believe me, I take time to have fun and enjoy life. The burden of my injury is a good thing for me, I should not become satisfied or think of being in a wheelchair as a normal part of life. Therefore, it pushes to keep trying even if it's a struggle, trying for betterment. Thank you again.

Life By Ian hi Ian, being in a wheelchair like you say its not “normal”. I think that normal is the wrong word. You are strong and stay fighting for a life without a wheelchair. I think that you have issues with acceptance wich i really understand because it is not nothing. And adapting your life is a really hard thing to do. But for me you wont not normal if you sit in a wheelchair. and maybe its easy for me to say because i am not in a wheelchair. But i can really empathyse with people. I have issues lightly physical and heavier menthal and psychologically. But knowing how hard it is to deal with psychologically problems i can really understand the psychological effects of your physical limitations. I know there are much people who only see the wheelchair and run away. They are affraid to know people with a disability and you feeling discriminate. And all the things you love to do but cant anymore. So hell yeah its hard to start over and do things differently and have struggles to move etc etc.but please dont look to yourself and feel your not normal. Disabilities and the tools to live your life are normal. Only in people minds it isnt and thats the thing what should changed. But hating being in a wheelchair i understand but thats unfornately something you need to learn accepting because thats not gonna change and need tools to live isnt bad. I need anti depression medication. Is it fun no do they have sideaffects yes but they make my life bearable and thats the 1 thing i need. Is your wheelchair fun not always but without wheelchair you cant get out of bed. And if you cant get out of bed you miss all the fun things. And unfortunately there are people who only can stay in bed. And i am not trying to minimalize your struggle. Love sabrina

Hold the bus! There's only about 5,000,000 people who would kill for your ability! ME BEING ONE OF 'EM! Take a look at your first footage you shot the first time you got on the floor! THEN get back to me....... In the words of Yoda! "THE FORCE IS STRONG IN THIS ONE IT IS!"

I am thankful for my ability, but I hate being in a wheelchair. Both are possible
