I love to see first draft excerpts because imposter syndrome makes me feel like everyone is out here writing perfectly polished, beautifully written first drafts and it's just me who writes: " '[insert something funny],' he said, and then she laughed, like, a pretty laugh tho."

SAME! And this is why I showed mine because I too used to think I was just REALLY doing something wrong with how bad my first drafts were. Like, other people said theirs were bad, but mine were like BAD BAD lol But everyone's are crap, so yay! XD

This was so fun! Would you ever consider sharing some of the first draft of the Glass Witch? One of my favorite parts of Stephen King's book On Writing was seeing the first draft while having the finished product to compare it to. Thank you again for sharing!

Totally random late night drating thought *As authortube plays in the background* Your "terrorize the local villages" vibe reminded me of the Boogey Man from A Nightmare before Chritmas, as something his wife would say and thought it would be such a cute couples costume for you guys. Hope I understood the assignment, even though it was an unasked for input, sent with love.

Lol, I honestly don't think that first draft snippet looks all that bad by first draft standards! Thanks for sharing though. I finished reading The Odds last night (super, super fun read, and I loved the Glass Witch easter egg) and have been fretting a little bit lately that my writing will never be up to professional standards. But it's always reassuring when actual professionals take the time to share the progression of their writing. Obviously that's not something you have to do, so it means a lot

Yay, another vlog, and rainy days! Love watching the writing process progress. My first drafts definitely have descriptive paragraphs like that, or all caps notes like, 'IDK, PUT SOME CREEPY S**T HERE, ETC ETC', so I have to fill in a lot of blanks once the second draft hits. The Halloween interlude literally made me spit-take, that was great! It was the hubs' foot lift that did it for me 🤣🤣 PS: Those used band-aid wafer cookie thingies are Genius.

Thank you for sharing a piece of your first draft! Mine ends up being if the outline and draft had a baby and it kind of flows from a draft to an outline/notes back to a draft. Lol It was nice to see that someone else’s is similar! Especially someone who has written and published multiple books, gives me hope! 🥰
