Hi, great videos, i have been watching your blogs to see what it is like in Germany. ! I saw that you have studied in Germany and I would love to get your advice. I'm thinking of either studying and staying in Mainz/ Frankfurt , or Luneburg/ Hamburg. Would you say Mainz/Frankfurt or Hamburg is a nicer or better place and has friendlier people? Where would you pick to stay and study if it was you? Thank you for your time!

Hi, thank you so much for your feedback, I really appreciate it! 🫶🏻 The decision depends on several factors: your study program, budget, preferences, etc. I recommend Hamburg if you enjoy big cities because, compared to Mainz, it offers many more career opportunities. I personally love the architecture as well. However, the climate isn’t for everyone, and, in my honest opinion, people there can seem a bit reserved. Mainz, on the other hand, is much calmer and more laid-back, it doesn’t have much of a “city life” vibe unless you’re willing to head to Frankfurt on the weekends. When it comes to costs, both Mainz and Hamburg are expensive, but it’s generally easier to find an apartment or secure a dorm in Mainz. Plus, people there tend to be friendlier. Despite all that, I chose Hamburg and don’t regret it at all. My two years living there were amazing! My sincere advice is to weigh the pros and cons, watch some vlogs to get a feel for each city’s vibe, and think about your long-term outlook: Do you want to stay there after studying? Are there specific companies you’d like to work for? If so, check out their branches in Germany. You can also research housing options and compare costs. But all in all, remember that there are plenty of opportunities to relocate during or after your degree, so you can always change your mind and move later on. 🙌🏻

Thank you very much for your really thoughtful reply! It is very helpful! I think I might go to both places before making a decision. I'm torn between the bustling hamburg city, the things to explore there and the aesthetic v.s. the sunnier weather and more friendly people in Mainz. You are right that I can relocate so I will consider that too. Thanks for your time!
