I love all of the old Instagram outfits! I remember following you then and always being so impressed and influenced. Maybe you could do a little bit of walk down memory lane , reflecting on your style development,…video? Or even restyling some outfits? Would really love that!

I'd love to hear more about how you budget for clothes etc. I love the idea of investing in carefully chosen pieces, but it can be difficult to justify the price tag. Do you have a system? Any financial advice? :)

Please don't criticise your 18 year old self for leaving the supermarket job after one day! That manager showed you exactly what the environment would be like and how you would be treated, and you prioritised your own safety and wellbeing. Good for you. (Also, age is not a prerequisite for respect - everyone deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of how young or old they are!)

THANK YOU for addressing being a “white slim girl” content creator. 🧡 I think the industry is slowly changing, but in 2018 there were very few non-white non-slim content creators. Now more than ever it’s important to support and promote creators who represent minorities and marginalized groups of people!

Thank you for your closing point- so poignant, true and honest. Thank you, also, for taking the time to tell your story... Not boring in the slightest. We’ve all got a story and yours is super sweet and motivating. Moral of story- live, love, learn, adventure, take chances, commit, reflect, be open, be humble, celebrate and keep on. It’s what I got from you, anyway. Enjoy your weekend! Sending sunny thoughts your way🌞🌞

Brittany! Stop with the self-deprecating chat! We all wear jumper & jean combos day in and day out sometimes! That's just what life seems to be about in 2020/2021! It's cool! We get it! Sending love!

I loved this vlog! It is actually really nice to listen to some "real life" chat about a influencer career. And also to know that you are conscious about how the industry works.
@tessac7753 жыл бұрын
So interesting - thank you! To me, the way you work as an influencer makes total sense as follow-on from VM. You’re really talented at curating a moment or giving atmosphere & context to a product. Instead of building a story on a physical shop fixture you’re doing it for our screens!

I worked at Zara about two years ago. It's still exactly as you described it. I started helping customers and greeting them in my first week (because that was normal in ALL my other retail jobs) and everyone there was like "oh you don't have to do that". Such a strange company to work for!

That was so interesting to watch! Two facts I love: proof that it has taken 4 years of blogging before you decided to, and could actually turn it into a full time job (and that it didn't happen instantly as people always think) and your statement in the end! Thanks so much for your honesty and for pointing out that you're aware of how the industry (sadly) still works! Looking forward to the outfits!

Thank you for this overview, so insightful and reassuring. For the longest time I felt (and still do some times) like my career path was so disorganized, when actually all my bifurcations are a result of curiosity and opportunities, your narrative here reminded me so beautifully of that.

I low key expected this vlog to be boring, but I must say, it was one of the most fun to watch from you ever. The tiktok reels of zara employees cracked me up (can you tell I'm a millennial?)

Also loved and appreciated your ending, especially as a person of colour (and with my own, albeit small in comparison, history of body issues). I know that it is uncomfortable/hard to recognise and admit those privileges and i see it in my own friends and i am learning to accept that in them and in wider society too. Your admission is really comforting and i hope it invites other white people with influence to recognise it and speak openly as well, as uncomfortable and vulnerable as it may be. Loved your storytelling and this video heaps

This was so interesting to watch! Loved your story 💖 Would be so up for a follow on of future plans or your thoughts on where influencing may take you in the years to come. So much of influencing is based on people in their 20s and 30s but I'm always so intrigued on what will happen when people reach their 40s or 50s. Slightly nosey of me, but I love your thoughtful, insightful views on topics, so would love to hear more! xx

Thank you for sharing your journey with us, it is fascinating to see how you come to this point of your life. I think people often forget influencers are just normal human beings and not realise they might be lost like everyone else. As for your work, all I want to say is don't underestimate yourself because I personally think you are one of the BEST influencer/stylist on this platform (at least it is to me). Your style and aesthetic has literally changed my life and I couldn't be happier with what I now have in my wardrobe.

Brittany, this was such an interesting video to watch! It's absolutely fascinating to find out just how different and non-linear your journey was to get where you are now. I don't think you need to be apologetic or self-deprecating about the past situations you found yourself in because a) those who take advantage of young people are just cruel and horrible; b) you're figuring out your way in life when you're young so there's bound to be some pitfalls and c) as a fellow anxious person, I understand what it's like to have to find a job tailored to the skills you have (rather than typically framed around charm, self-assuredness and extroversion). Despite all these things, you still had the courage to get out in the world and explore and try new things! That is so ridiculously commendable. Plus, you were brave enough to take the step to go for what you really wanted for and it's paid off - the work you produce now inspires so many people and is SO stunning! You really should be proud of yourself!!!! Okay, mini essay over (oops). PS. I love your earrings - where are they from? Sending you tonnes of love xxx

Love the way you tell the story.. I think your previous jobs actually led your way to do what you are doing now brilliantly. Personally, I think the way u quit your job because the manager told u to wear men’s uniform and it made your Dee uncomfortable is the right thing to do even when you were really young. U had a healthy boundary.. bravo .. young or old , people deserve to be treated fairly.
