VLOG: Making a Mixed Media Mosaic using Slate & Smalti
In this episode I am finishing off my mixed media trio and explaining how I split the smalti pizza into smaller pieces to work with.
My aim is to inspire mosaic enthusiasts, DIYers or any other inquisitive souls to have a go yourselves.

African Turquoise
Apatite
Slate

15cmx15cm mdf board
Cement:
BAL Flex fibre (White) mixed dry with Harristone Colour for Concrete (Ultra Black)

When using slate and granite for mosaic, is it customary to use this type concrete instead of grout?

Yes, the reason is because the cement is strong and durable with adhesive components, whereas the grout is just a filler.
