I speak English and French beside my mother tongue Indonesia. I do agree with you that practice makes perfect. If we do not use it often we will forget it easily. Luckily, i am living in France and married with french guy with whom i can speak french all the time. Also working in an international high-tech company helps me to juggle English and French all the time. Nevertheless, as there aren't many Indonesians around me, I feel I'm starting to lose the logical reasoning of my own mother tongue. Somehow, my mom told me that she doesn't understand what i am talking about or how come you speak with such a rude way whenever i call her if we engaged with quite complicated topic. Yes, Indonesian just like other Asian language tends to carry subtle way for self expressing that somehow quite opposite of English. But similar to French that also subtle language. I thought i meshed up bit my Indonesian logic either with french or english. lol. For me , the challenging thing is how to shift between logic of three languages that i use to speak daily without interfering one each other 😅
