Was really wanting to see this lens on the R50. Great video! Thank you.

Sounds like a good ultrawide zoom for the R7, especially since you get IBIS on that body. 👍🏻

Thank you. I'm planning to replace my Canon RF 10-18mm f4.5-6.3 (not 5.6) lens with this Sigma RF 10-18mm f2.8 DC DN lens. The Sigma 18-50 f2.8 for Canon RF I did not order because I switched from the Canon RF 18-45mm f4.5-6.3 to the more flexible Canon RF 18-150mmm f3.5-6.3 lens that is as sharp as the Sigma lens but I prefer to have IS and the longer reach than the faster aperture! By the way I also own the Canon R50 but in White! (Why have all cameras to be black?)

Who is the tripod that you uses for the hand vlogging?
@WilkinsonCameras2 ай бұрын
I'm using the Canon HG-100TBR tripod grip which is included in the R50 creator kit. Heres a link to the grip: www.wilkinson.co.uk/canon-tripod-grip-hg-100tbr/

Have this lens for my Sony A6700, but I am wondering if I should get it for my Canon R10 also 😅💸

Just get the RF 16mm 2.8. Cheaper wide angle and great in low light conditions.

Thanks for watching 😊 Remember that 16mm is the equivalent focal length of just over 25mm, which isn't super wide on an APS-C camera, so for vloggers who want to put more of the scene in the frame, a 10-18mm offers much more versatility. You're also going to crop into that with active stabilisation. If you look at 2:23, where Olivia is at 18mm, and 2:46, where it's filmed at 10mm, 10mm is much wider and much better for general vlogging. 16mm would be ok, but skip to 3:05, where we start the IS tests and imagine you're shooting at 16mm and need to use the enhanced digital IS function; at 16mm, you'll be VERY tight to Olivia's face. If someone needs an inexpensive prime lens for vlogging, the RF 16mm is a reasonable consideration. However, what sets this Sigma lens aside is its build quality, image quality, and flexibility, thanks to its zoom range. All this for just an extra 95g. Yes, it's a lot more expensive, but you're getting a lot more. It's going to come down to budgets and requirements (as for most things!) for the individual. So, for vlogging content, we recommend either the Canon RF-S 10-18mm, the Sigma 10-18mm or the Tamron 11-20mm (we haven't tested this yet), depending on the budget.

I’ve been waiting for this lens, shame it has no IS as the crop is way too much when the R50 is used 👎🏻
@WilkinsonCameras3 ай бұрын
It does have a crop on it but for vlogging purposes you can still get a fair bit in the frame at the 10mm end!
@LE672AJ3 ай бұрын
This IS meant for a crop sensor. 16mm equivalent is nice and wide already, without it being awkwardly fake wide.
@MusikPiratCH3 ай бұрын
It is meant for crop sensors like the Canon R50. It even has a 1.6 crop on an R6 II or an R5 II (or any other Canon full frame bodies)!

@@MusikPiratCHhave you found any examples of this lens being used on a full frame body like the R8 or R6?
