I have the same gauge issue when switching from knitting flat to knitting in the round - my knitting in the round is always a tighter gauge. I find that if I I go up a needle size when knitting in the round it balances out the difference in gauge (for example, if the body is knit flat on 4mm needles I will always go up to a 4.5mm needles to knit the sleeves in the round). I do this for sleeves on cardigans, but I also do it for the body of a sweater if the neck shaping/yoke are knit flat (as they would be in a drop shoulder) and then joined in the round under the arm to knit the body.

I feel so silly for not thinking of this! I guess I didn’t think of it as an option because I don’t have metal needles that are bigger than what I’m using now, and this yarn is not my favorite on wooden needles. It may be worth redoing the one I’ve already finished because the gauge looks so different. Thank you!

I really like how you use the card to keep up with decreases. 🧶Your pumpkin bread looked delicious! 😋 I really like your Porclain Sweater.
