So proud of Amy getting the boarding pass. It can be tricky. What a fun filled day. And kids riding the big rides. And the crowds looked really good. Your mom looks so familiar to me. She looks just like my 3rd and 5th grade teacher. I had Mrs Lynn twice. Evertime I see her in your vlogs. I say to myself she looks like someone I know. Finally figured it out. And I want to try that jack jack cookie.

re: the golden hour - it's always been best very early or very late. With the kids we'd always do a split shift where we show up first thing and when the kids were really little we'd go outside the park for lunch and wouldn't go back until after dinner and we'd stay for the fireworks + however long they could stay good / stay awake. Then as they aged that would shrink down some. But when the park is open for a normal number of hours losing the worst couple of hours of heat/crowd is well worth it. When I worked at Disneyland I'd see so many kids melt down around 2-3pm because their parents pushed them too hard and they never got any real food. Ugh.

I feel you during the middle of the day! We always did that at Walt Disney World. At Disneyland, when they were really little, we’d go to the Grand Californian and sit in the lobby for an hour while they napped. Benji napped a bit this day, and we live streamed the whole time as we just walked around (the stroller motion kept him asleep). We didn’t have a hotel to go back to on this visit, but I do agree with that being a great strategy of the goal is to stay till close. Amy wants to stay for fireworks next time but I’m not sure if we will make it that long.

@@SoCalDisneyDad Using the lobby for a cooldown is clever. I'm a huge fan of the fireworks. I saw them literally 100 times one summer and never got tired of them. My favorite place is right in front of Pirates, along the water.

Do they have music throughout the park for fireworks? I thought it was only on Main Street? At least that area and the Hub are really the only places we've ever stayed for fireworks.

@@SoCalDisneyDad They have music and projections in a lot of places. They have the music there and also project the stuff they'd project on the castle or the main street buildings onto water spraying up from the river. Similarly they project onto Small World, it makes a pretty good screen. I've been at Pirates for the fireworks around Christmas and they even have the fake snow going over there as well. Highly recommended. Not too crowded and a great angle.

No, they don’t even ask. But all people, regardless of vaccination status, must wear masks indoors. That’s how they are dealing with that.

Was the day this was filmed an Oogie Boogie Bash day? I have heard DCA is usually less crowded those days because non park hoppers would get kicked out at 6pm. Have you found this to be true?

I don’t believe it was. I didn’t particularly pay attention, but I didn’t see any signage saying we needed to leave by a certain time. And we were inside the park until 7:30.

I'm going to DCA for the first time on over 15 years!! How do I know what time performances are at avengers campus can that be found on the app along with wait times?

If you go to the map in the app, then at the top select “Entertainment” and navigate to avengers campus and select on the show you want, it will display showtimes there for you. It wasn’t too bad actually. Mostly low waits except Radiator Racers. I would say this Thursday will be less crowded than when we went. My son goes back to school tomorrow and I imagine others are as well.
