I live in CA too and a lot of grocery stores won't let you bring your own bags inside but you can keep bags in your car and ask the grocer to just put your groceries back in your cart so you can bag your own groceries at your car safely (and more environmentally friendly)!

great idea with the gift giving using paper bags. I usually only use reuseable bags at the grocery store but always see people getting rid of the brown bags on a local neighborhood site. I will definitely do that for any gift giving in the future. I have always loved homemade way of doing things and it looks like you put more thought into it. Choosing the washi tape to add to the present opposed to using wrapping paper that's already has design on it. I like hearing what people do in their lives to be more sustainable. It helps me be more aware of the things I bring into the house that may not be so eco-friendly and rather wasteful to the environment.

A really good tip for cutting the flowers is also to cut them under water like fill up your sink or a large bowl. It doesn’t shock the stems as much and helps them last longer!
