I understand the feelings. I didn't get married until I was 44. Very independent lady who owned her own home and had a fun, fulfilling, single life. I never thought I'd get married. Never wanted to. But love hit me hard, praise God!💕 10 years later I still go to all my favorite places when I visit the area where I used to live. I'm renting my condo to a single dad with an adorable daughter. My husband and I own a beautiful home in the foothills. I had broken relationships/engagements. I was over all of it. I just sunk into being a hard working, independent woman with retirement goals. But I realized those past relationships, those ugly stones I went through helped prepare me for when I struck GOLD! And let me tell you, I struck big. My husband and I aren't "perfect" (we're human). From my perspective, I think this is one of the few, if not the only time, you are going through so many changes in your life and are actually in a "safe" place to actually FEEL, you are not blocking all your emotions and reactions because you're just trying to survive... After living in survival mode, "normal" feelings can be weird, crazy, overwhelming and they can feel so juxtaposing that it is easy to discredit them or not know what to do with them...

I don’t comment on videos a lot but I wanted to share something that was shared with me years ago. When I was planning my wedding we also recently moved into a home we purchased and I remember being SO anxious. I didn’t understand why because there was nothing but good things happening in my life- so why was I feeling this way? I remember word vomitting my feelings to my doctor and she said… that’s normal. Big life changes can trigger anxiety and anxious thoughts, it doesn’t matter if it’s good or bad transitions- big things require big emotions. It’s normal to feel this way and that made me feel SO much better and less guilty that I was having these “negative” thoughts/ feelings. That conversation still plays in my head and helps me 5 years later!

Dear Michel - the dichotomy of feelings you are encountering is completely normal. Being sad about what you are leaving behind has nothing to do with being sad about what you are moving towards. Austin has helped you find yourself again after an incredibly difficult experience. It has helped you grow, find strength you didn’t think you had and most of all heal - all in a setting close to your wonderful family and friends. Allow yourself time to “grieve” what you are leaving behind - the second you’ll be in your car and get to California the excitement of what is to come will kick in, I am sure of it. I cried every time I moved - maybe it’s all part of the process ;) you’ve got this Michel xx

Michel imo it’s very normal what you’re feeling. We moved from the East coast (born and raised) to Texas. We wanted this, built a beautiful new home on land. That said, we were sad to leave all that we knew, family and friends. Both can be true, doesn’t mean you’re making a mistake. Enjoy this season.

I love raccoons but as cute as they are they can tear a dog to shreds. I worked with someone who almost lost their big black lab to a fight with a raccoon. I would hate to see Max get hurt. Just wanted you to be aware. Not hating on the raccoons.

Giving up your single life and what you created solo is a loss, so give yourself morning time. Even if you are moving into a wonderful partnership and fabulous new home. Transitions are heavy. Just remember movement forward in love, is the ultimate adventure! By the way raccoons are extremely territorial especially if babies are in the mix, so be aware and protect Max! A pool cover will solve their visits as they love ponds, pools and streams to clean. ❤ your content🎃.

It makes total sense that you are feeling a bit of sadness. You are saying goodbye to a phase of life that led you to get to your next sweet season, it's normal to feel like that. You also, maybe, found who you are and you like that person now. Changes will happen, so it would be normal to feel a bit sad for that, too. However, those changes will just build upon the person you have become, so you are not saying goodbye to that one, at least.

When I was moving from California to Hawaii to be with my now husband, I was sad, I was leaving behind a lot of family, my friends, my church and community, it was hard, I was excited but sad at the same time to leave a place that was my home for so long, and all the places I would miss, I think it would be kind of weird if you weren't sad

I would try and discourage raccoons from hanging out in your yard. They carry many diseases including a form of ringworm very dangerous to humans so wear gloves if you have to clean up their poop and then wash thoroughly afterwards including any shovels or tools you used.

Definitely normal feelings! I made a cross country move for and with my significant other. It was sad to leave all my friends and friends who became my family. As you said it was sad to leave something "that was beautiful." Of course you will be sad to leave Austin behind, if you weren't sad about leaving, it would mean it was not a special place to you. I am prone to sadness and depression without having a cause so I believe that I use old memories or something else to account for my depression. when actually the problem was not the memory but my need for a chemical adjustment of my brain.

Michel. I lived in San Diego/La Jolla twice and live in Austin now and have lived in other cities like Atlanta. What do you think of SD ? I can answer questions too. I lost my Dad suddenly to stage 4 lung cancer when he was so energetic and healthy. And lost my mom to covid while visiting my mom in memphis. I hear you on new chapters
