Melissa I love that long lace gown. I would get a sheer black 3/4 sleeve jacket-wrap kind of cover for the arms. It sounds like a fun wedding! Red dresses are considered very hip and cutting edge! Spanx is our friend. lol xox

I did this last year. Our son was married in Oct. Their wedding was "rustic chic." I tried on dresses for months. There are not a lot of choices for gals like us. I ended up choosing a long skirt and a vintage lace top. You will be gorgeous in whatever you choose! Isn't it great to have a daughter to go shopping with? Have fun with the wedding planning!

Loved the two dresses you picked.You can always have a shrug made to cover your arms. It would not cost much and you could wear it with other items. I think you should keep both ;-) easy for me to say, it's not my budget. Love Nordstrom their selection and service are amazing. Tell Kate I was homesick for her a well. I love it when you vlog, Melissa! I have had both the contour stick kit, and the new Nars foundation in my online cart for about 2 weeks now debating on them. REALLY looking forward to hearing your thoughts on both, I find your reviews very helpful. If I can offer my 2 cents re: the dresses, I would go with the sequined #, I thought it was more flattering, unless of course it's uncomfortable. Enjoy your week! xo

Both dresses are beautiful - I prefer the long lace one if it is a formal wedding. You can always have it altered to a short dress if you want to wear it again for another event. I am a fan of Adrianna Papell dresses for formal atire- I only have one of her dresses and it is so flattering- gave me nice curves where they do not exist.

I like the lace dress best. I think its so becoming and sophisticated. I think it will photograph much better than the gunmetal dress. The gunmetal dress was cute but shiny doesn't always photograph so well on anyone bigger than a size two. Have them take a few full length pictures of you from different angles so you can make a decision. I'm plus sized as well. So hard to find formal wear.

Oh I got that point bag too... I thought it might even make a cute summer purse. I mean I got it for my empties but it was nicer than I thought it would be. My shade in that foundation is Vallaries (or something like that) so I'm anxious to see how this shade works for you...it was too yellow for me. It will give me a reference point when you are talking about shades. I like the 3rd dress with the 4th dresses shaw/thingie LOL Can you get out of there with it? LOL Oh yea I picked one of the ones you picked LOL but I would have taken the shaw from the 4th one and hung it on it like it belonged there LOL OK I wouldn't really have done that NOW but when I was younger I totally would have done that ;) xoxox Mary

I actually tried the dress on with that sheer little jacket from the other dress. I did not really like the effect. I'm thinking a shawl, maybe. We will see. I'll let you know on the foundation color as soon as I bust it out.

The second and third dresses looked fantastic, my preference was the third one. It looked so good on you I did not notice your arms but you can wear a stole with it if you are too uncomfortable. I wouldn't wear a jacket it will take away from the beauty of the dress. Blessings from Bermuda
