She preserves them by adding a lot of sugar, usually people do these to preserve some foods for eg. Many amounts of salt and oil in pickles, lot of sugar in jams etc. Apparantly, adding an huge amount of some ingredients preserves the food for a long time... hope it helped 😊 Edit: watched that part again, she added lemon juice there so I guess that makes it less sugary, idk man I'm not an expert when it comes to foods and nutrients 😓

I think there's some importance and benefit in supermarkets wrapping vegetables/fruits in "plastic". I find that when i keep the vegetable in its wrap and put it in the fridge, it stays fresher for longer than the other vegetables whose wrap I've already broken. Found this in Quora by James Boettcher upvoted by Miranda Circus, Applications Engineer at EWI specializing in plastic joining: "Supermarkets that wrap their veggies do it to cut down on waste and damage from handling, boxing, and transporting, and keep them from drying out. It saves them money, and makes you buy 6 tomatoes instead of 3. I'm seeing seedless grapes in perforated cellophane bags. This makes sure more grapes stay on the bunch, and if a few come loose, you have to buy them anyway. Chitosan, a biopolymer made from chitin, or other biopolymers, and mixtures of biopolymers to make transparent food containers and wrappers. These biomaterials are both recyclable, and biodegradable. Chitosan also resists fungus and insects, yet is completely non toxic to humans. Normally made from discarded shrimp shells, Chitosan can now be derived from natural, non-GMO, non-animal sources. Research into other biopolymers is ongoing. Films of “cellophane” are 100% biodegradable. This is film made from cellulose “viscose” polymer, not films made from plastic which sometimes market under the generic “cellophane” name. In order to soften the film glycerine can be added. Plastic film is cheaper, but not that much cheaper. Trays can be made of paper rather than styrofoam, and the clear wrap from Chitosan or Cellophane. There is a push to get all fast food restaurants to use 100% compostable bags, trays, food boxes and wrappers, and utensils. It ends up actually being cheaper, as all the trash and waste can be composted, without costly separation, and get a better rate from the collection service who can sell the waste to commercial composters, and avoid fees at the dump."
