Dual actuator drives sound incredible! This is exactly how I expected hard drives to work in the past.

20:54 su keeps the current users environment, if you want to switch to roots environment too you need to “su root -“ then it switches the user environment and commands only available to root like zpool or zfs work again.

I'm also the tech guy for my family (as is probably everyone watching). I've upgraded everyone to UniFi as I've upgraded my UniFi setup. It's way easier to manage and maintain over multiple OpenWRT instances I have to VPN into. I also like to play with gear, and I can always find a home for my old stuff. That makes it easier to upgrade when I might not need to. I recently got another 24-port EtherLighting UniFi switch because I could give my older 24-port (no-screen model) switch to my sister.

Have you tried to setup SMART schedule through the GUI? I dont think its possible to get it to work correctly, but havent tried to do it yet through CLI. It seems like scrub tasks work fine.

my early Virtulization of TrueNAS I had a 5TB drive, a 4TB drive and a bunch of 1TB. Through Proxmox I would split the larger drives up into ~700gb LVMs and pass them through to TrueNAS to create a RAID pool of equal size disks. Luckly neither the 4 or 5tb drives failed.

The SAS models show up as 2 drives, does not matter what OS

I have a UniFi UXG Pro. Lawrence is right, these updates come in later. I was on 4.0.x and upgraded to the release candidate 4.1.8 to get the new zone-based firewall rules. It wasn't working without that update. I had to disable automatic updates, install that firmware from the URL in the UI, and then re-enable automatic updates.

The sata version should behave exactly how an ssd controller stripes parallel nand modules, then presents the striped data as one drive. No unnecessary partition tricks. Same max throughput, double the iops.
@Oracxy15 күн бұрын
No, the sata version divides the drive in two. You need to create two partitions to get the extra performance.
