Wow to close to home Quasi glad no one was injured. That front hit us in Missour city around 3:30am just like you mentioned it sounded like train and constant lightning/thunder booms. We got our fair share of down trees and debris in the streets.

We could use some rain in Mn. Tornado's no! Got Goldwing air filter changed, always fun🥵 and went for 1st ride of the season. PCX's still sitting, will change oil on both and put batteries back in. Still fairly cold up here. Glad your healing some.

Tornado warnings are treated different here in the mountains. Here on my mountain near Chattanooga , we get hit about once a year. We are hit so often, Storm chasers from the plain state colleges drive here a lot just to watch storms hit us. But most people see tornadoes as something you cant do anything about. Some of the towns do have a siren an a shelter, but most of us are nowhere near one. We now have a single shelter a few miles from me behind the school for people in something like five miles in every direction. None of which have a warning system. Unlike the empty plains, we cant see anything for trees an hills. So the only warning we get if from a weather radio. But they broadcast our warning from a station two taller mountains away from us. You can only pick it up if its a clear day, so almost no one owns one. I have one but have it set for the closest county I can receive a good signal from, not mine. I would assume the people in the valley between the mountains cant pick up either signal. The end result is that people treat tornadoes as unpredictable an go about their normal day until you hear a train an your house vanishes. Everyone has lost friends to them. A friend of mine had just came in the house with take-out fried chicken. The whole family sat down at the table to eat, the house vanished an they were all killed. Her brother watching it happen from next door. Another person I know lived by the train tracks. He was in bed, watching TV. He thought another train was going by. Next thing he knew he was waking up in a field. Half the town was leveled. Most people here see this an just how it is.

I hate tornados, too. My home and town were hit by an F3 tornado in June 2015. It was scary. Never again! I'm glad no one was hurt.

The news is reporting that nobody was hurt there in Katy. Glad to hear that. In 2020 (2019?) and just a couple years ago we had bad tornadoes here in Nashville. Also in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where my late wife worked (she taught at WKU). We had a problem with our van and took it to a garage up there rather than our usual mechanic and the problem continued. We had our regular mechanic fix it and he said, "they should have seen that." So she decided to go back when she went back after the storms... she called me that morning, "Yeah, they aren't here. As in, the entire lot is flattened. I can see some of the building in a pile next door." We let it go. They had enough problems. Spent the 2020 tornadoes in the bathtub and we could hear and feel it pass by here in East Nashville. The one last year was on track to hit directly while there was an event at the house. Everybody wound up going down into the basement and standing under bare bulbs amid boxes and spiderwebs.

Yes, that's usually true. The weather front that moved through and caused that crazy weather left cool, dry air behind it. So, we've had California-like weather here in Houston the past few days! 😉👍 --QM

Quasi..hoping you might get this comment/question, i watched some your 2023 cannonball on pcx, i was wondering what exactly you figured out was the cause of the variator failure, i thought you figured it out when you got back, but i can't remember now, what was the cause??

Good you drive a motorcycle otherwise you'd have to contend with many pokey drivers that seem to enjoy traffic bscked up and riding their brakes.
