Having walked, and walked around DC and Alexandria for the past two days, we took it easy on this third day in Washington DC. We took the Big Bus Tour to go around the city without having to walk them from one monument to the next.
We have found this to be the best bang for your buck when traveling. You are able to see the sites in a short period of time and then go back to the places you would like to explore more later. We have used Big Bus Tours in DC and Boston.

This is helpful thanks.....our trip to DC is in September and we are visiting for the day from NYC. We have around 9 hrs free before our return so will pack in as much as possible. Thanks for the Tour as we are ready to book online for the 2 day hop on and off and night tour. Did the big bus tour offer hotel pick up? If so what hotel and if not what hotel did you stay at and would you recommend yours or others you know of that are best value? Thank You

Thank you for stopping by. The buses have certain areas where they picked up. We walked from our hotel to the pick up point. We stayed at CitizenM. The rooms are very minimal and small. The width of the room is as big as the bed. We stayed in one in Paris and liked them. I’m not sure it if for everyone. There is not space to move around and not tables or chairs to sit on.
