This is the point of a bullet journal tho!! A lot of people forget that, and try to make them all fancy and shit because thats what the people on youtube do. The journal is really just personally customized for YOU. You can do whatever you want, and if something doesn't work, just do something else! Mine is reeeally simple and kind of messy compared to others, but it does what it's supposed to do (for me). Every journal is different, and so is people, therefore it's okay to mess it up. Allow yourself to make mistakes in it, and just be creative as you want for yourself. My best tip is to not watch youtube videos (they're often way too fancy), but rather go on pinterest for inspiration if you need some!

Yes I learned after my first one was a disaster and I had to rip out more than half the pages... to use pencil to plan out and sort it into sort of categories - plus not everything that works for someone will suit your needs...

For your bullet journal get rub out pens. Total game changer. You can get them in all different colours. Paperchase sell them and some B&M shops have them cheaper. Honestly they are the best and will be ideal for your journal 🙌🏼

Hey Jamie, hope you see this. If you start out first with pencil in your bullet journal, then go over it with pens and markers, it will help loads. Especially as a beginner. It may be time consuming, but if you’re a perfectionist like me it will help so much! It really allows you to get it perfect and take your time so you don’t have to rip out pages. Don’t get discouraged! It takes time and patience. Get well soon!

Jamie, you should try the Plum Paper Planner- it's what I use rather than bullet journalling and I love it! There's loads of layouts and specific planning sections you can choose (including a wedding section if I remember correctly!) so it gives you a nice template to work with, then you can get stickers and stuff to fill it in without it looking all crazy. I've never been neat (or had time) enough for bullet journalling XD

If you’re looking for a planner that allows for creativity, but has a bit more structure to it (that way you’re not creating all the content from scratch), I HIGHLY recommend the Passion Planner! I love bullet journaling, but I keep it super simple! The drawings are so beautiful, but time consuming. I also break in my journal per the bullet journal website. Start from the outside going in opening ten pages or so from each side to break in the binding.

Love the clean color watercolors-you may want to look at getting some Copic multiliner or Pigma micron pens as they’re waterproof and won’t bleed with the Tombow and Clean color pens ❤️

Tombow pens! My favourite ♥ I do a lot of my artwork with them. Hope you have fun with them! If you get a moleskine sketchbook or another sketchbook rather than a notebook it'll be sturdier. I use one I got from paperchase and it's super sturdy. I'm really heavy handed when drawing and I throw it in my bag every day and it's still going strong x
