I’m two weeks out recovering from my wisdom teeth and sitting on the couch in pain as we speak!!! 🙃 Both of my bottom extraction sites turned out to be infected despite being very vigilant with home care. I’ve been back and forth for follow ups, today my oral surgeon had to make incisions and irrigate both of them, one of them was already irrigated last Friday too!!! I am on antibiotics now thankfully …. Basically I wasn’t prescribed antibiotics after getting them removed initially, AND was not given syringes to irrigate my mouth at home. Let me tell you it’s been a journey and this is a reminder to look after yourself and listen to your body! If I had been sent home with antibiotics and syringes after getting all four removed way back on March 1st, maybe this would have been avoidable! Love your videos Meg and wishing you all the best in your recovery! ❤️

I just got my wisdom teeth out in February and I had the exact same experience as you - the nerves before, a good first 2 days and then throbbing pain that the surgeon said wasn’t a dry socket. Fortunately after the second visit they treated me as if I had a dry socket with some clove gauze and that was a huge help!!! I regretted getting the out because of the pain lol! It took me about 2.5 weeks before I felt slightly normal again even though most people I knew felt good after 3-4 days 🤷♀️ I guess it is different for everyone! Happy to see you are doing better!

This is my pt. 2 comment because the only time I have time to watch lately is at work on my lunches 😂 but Meg, I'm so sorry you went through all that trouble! And I totally relate not letting others help you and you take it all on yourself. I've been trying to get better at that as well. I'm very grateful that my wisdom teeth recovery was a breeze! Mine was the opposite and my bottoms were the worst because they were wayy deeper than my top. I hardly even noticed my top! I was terrified too, mainly because of the iv, but everything turned out way better than I made it out to be. My main tip is do lots of things for yourself in your time of rest and recovery! Let yourself have things you don't always let yourself have and treat yourself well! Having something to look forward to after always helpes!

ah, I’m sorry you had such a rough go! I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth out, and they were all impacted, so I thought it was going to be horrible but it was a breeze. I have had teeth pulled in the past so maybe I’m used to it. Highly recommend though mentioning to your surgeon if you swell easily. I swell from literally everything so he gave me a steroid along with my pain meds and I didn’t swell hardly at all which I think really sped up the process !

I got my wisdom teeth out like 8 years ago (omg I’m old) and my brother got his out at the same time. He healed so well and was literally FINE the next day, he even went to hang out with his friends and went golfing. I on the other hand, was extremely unwell and had a horrible recovery- I was extremely dizzy and throwing up for over a week straight and had to go to multiple drs to figure out why.. somehow I ended up with vertigo and had to do physical therapy on top of wisdom teeth recovery 😅 I don’t want to scare anyone because I honestly have never heard anyone having an experience like I did…. Most people recover very well and with minimal complications. However, if you do happen to have a less than ideal recovery experience like I did, I’m here to tell you that it’s OKAY! You will make it out & be back to normal, it won’t last forever and there are kind doctors to help you through it.
