What is called stockpiling?
The practice of storing a large supply of something for future use.
A stockpile is your supply of household items that you would normally buy in order to take care of your family, only you buy more than usual at the lowest possible price.
Why is it necessary?
Stockpiling reduces your monthly grocery bill over time and saves you a lot of money.
What items can you stockpile?
Anything with a long shelf life like detergents, canned and dried foods, paper products etc.
The important thing to remember is to buy things that your family actually needs and uses on a daily basis. Don’t buy for the sake of buying or just because an item is on sale.
How do you build a stockpile?
You can start with as little as R200
Have a list of your family’s grocery needs. This will help ensure that you only buy what your family needs and uses.
You must know your prices in order to be able to spot a good deal.
Set aside a stockpiling budget.
