Jord, I am an artist and learned long ago after cleaning up the brushes, shake them good and then point the hairs and wrap in a strip of paper towel round and round from the ferrel to the tips and they will dry out like new not all fuzzed out.

Re the make up comment.......joe public don't realise that stage make up HAS to be stronger so the audience at the back of the auditorium can see the definition on the face of the performer. Your make up is flawless and your performance is outstanding. For your hip issue, I recommend sleeping on the floor. Lay out an exercise mat and make that your bed. Don't sleep on a normal cushioned bed. A rigid hard surface supports your body like a cushioned bed can't. I've given this advice to others before, and I've always been scoffed at. I tell them, "There's a reason why Jason Bourne slept on the floor in the movies". The reason is that's what's best for your all your bones, muscles, and ligaments. It naturally stretches you out. A modern cushioned bed is an unnatural luxury that isn't really good for you. The only good thing about a raised bed is that it keeps you away from creepy crawly things. But you could replace your mattress with a sheet of plywood. 🙂

This was interesting. 50+ years ago I broke a couple of bones and tore up some muscles in my back falling off of a horse. My orthopedic doctor recommended a super firm mattress with a back board (plywood) underneath so that is all I have slept on since. At least until our newest mattress which is mostly foam that I hate. They don’t seem to make good old fashioned super firm mattresses any more.
