Lovely vlog Brittany! Please don't ever worry about us being "sick to death" of seeing certain items in your wardrobe, it's a skill to be able to rewear clothes that you love and a cultural shift away from constant trend cycles is definitely needed. We love your style because it's timeless!

Brittany, your videos are so relaxing and a breath of fresh air! I love that you are truly yourself and don't change yourself to fit all the constant changing trends. It is refreshing to see someone embrace themselves and their passions/interests. In a world of pressure to constantly fit in to the trends, you make me happy to stick with the things I enjoy :)

Super disappointing that the respect doesn't extend to leaving the natural environment as it was when you see Brittany's photo of the seashell haul from Western Australian shores posted on Instagram. Irresponsible influencing - you don't need to take them - isn't it enough to simply enjoy the experience?!

Long time fan! Melbourne Northside recommendations (book anywhere you want to eat, including pubs): Carlton Wine Room, Marion (wine bar; sit outside if nice weather and get the mussels), Bar Liberty (wine bar with good food), Napier Quarter (wine bar; nicest outside spot to nurse a wine before wandering down to Marquis of Lorne), Old Palm Liquor (wine bar) and bar next door (Havana Gold), Capitano (Italian with a great vibe), Bar Idda (cute Italian), Bar Romantica (Italian), Marquis of Lorne (pub with good food - get the schnitzel), Builders Arms (pub with good food), Rita’s (casual pizza), Gerald’s (wine bar with small bites), Public Wine Shop (wine bar; don’t bother eating here), Above Board (tiny laneway cocktail bar), Monty’s (bar; service is a little too cool), Johnny’s Green Room (rooftop bar with great views, but average crowd - get an ice cream from Pidapipo downstairs after), Alimentari (cafe), Archie’s (busy cafe), Morning Market (gourmet grocer with good coffee and Baker Bleu pastries), Collingwood Children’s Farm (don’t sit and eat - get a takeaway coffee and wander around farm / old Abbotsford Convent gardens and along the river (the walk to Dights falls is pretty), and you could even then pop into Cam’s Kiosk for a drink when leaving the farm / convent (don’t bother eating)), To Be Frank (bakery and good coffee in lane way), Falco (bakery and good coffee), Loafer (bakery and good coffee; get the sausage roll), Picolina (ice cream), Pidapipo (ice cream) For more bougie Asian, go to the city for any of: Long Grain (bit more old school), Rice Paper Scissors (bit more casual), Supernormal and Tonka (modern Indian). For city drinks, Dessous (if weather isn’t great), City Wine Shop or Siglo (either if weather is good; Siglo has good views but average crowd and service), Nick & Nora’s (fancier cocktail bar) and Kirk’s Wine Bar Bougie / more pretentious: Gimlet (city), Bar Americano (city)

Northern rivers recommendations: - Bangalow is a great little town out of Byron, WOODS is a cool place to eat there, some lovely homewears stores etc. - Lennox is also a great place to go to get the beauty of Byron without the crowds, Papaya or Penny Lane are great places to eat, and sitting up on the headland at sunset is beautiful! - Minyon Falls walking track and lookout is stunning if it’s open, incredible waterfall!

Brittany have you considered any energy efficiency measures for your retrofit? Not only will it reduce carbon emissions (and your bills!) but also hugely improve the comfort levels in the house. Especially as the house seems to be south-north facing, one half will always be cool in summer/cold in winter whilst the other will overheat in summer. You'll need an experienced architect to help, but it'll be well worth it in the long term.

The tiny bathroom is a challenge. But your layout seems to be a good option. Would just consider to make the wall between toilet and shower only half high with tiles and glass on the top. Solves the issue with light in the shower.

Northern Rivers local here!! Definitely check out Lennox Head for the best beach’s in the area. Penny Lane, Quattro and Shelter are all fantastic food options. Byron is great, but the food is definitely the highlight. My recommendation would be Light Years, The Mez Club, Three Blue Ducks, and Harvest. Check out the industrial estate for shopping and vintage stores. Of course you must visit a waterfall at least once. Whian Whian falls is my favourite for swimming. For bookshops, the best is the The Book Room in Byron but there is also an incredible second hand bookshop in Clunes - a tiny little township in the hinterland which also has a really lovely cafe. The Eltham Pub is definitely a must do!! Bangalow is my personal favourite in the area, stunning shops and amazing food and cafes. Butcher Baker and Red Ginger are my recs!

Packing for a long trip is my superpower. Just kidding. Mostly. But I do love to pack for trips. I make lists of possible kinds of outfits I’ll need… day wear in the city, daytime hiking or walking, evening casual, evening smart etc. Then I make sure all my tops can be worn in at least two categories. And I never pack my really good pieces. Because we always have to launder our clothes especially when travelling in a hot country… and I have ruined too many tees in laundromat washing machines. Packing that Issey Miyake dress makes me nervous. 😩And I always always wear my heaviest shoes/boots on the plane so I don’t have to pack them. When we travelled to Argentina and Peru for six weeks, my husband and I each checked one small roller bag, carryon size, and used a backpack as our carryon. Anyhoo… hope you guys have an amazing trip. We’ve travelled to most parts of Australia (from Canada) and envy you. Except for that 12 hour flight. 😂

oh there’s so many places I would recommend checking out in Melbourne - if you’re sister is living in South Yarra. I would highly recommend checking France-soir (you have to call to book in and it’s an institution) and also moonhouse in balaclava (Chinese fusion done right and also interior is immaculate) onto some favourites on the north side is Napier quarter in Fitzroy (great selection on natural wines) and also hope st radio in collingwood is great as well for vibes, wine and food! And also Bar Liberty (amazing wine, cocktails and food) If you can get a booking at gimlet - I would highly recommend it as it’s my ultimate favourite place! Also if you want to be more adventurous and eat in the city, highly recommend a cute small place called Parcs (amazing natural wine list and majority of everything on the menu is fermented - it’s absolutely mind blowing)

Have you thought of having the door (from the corridor to your living/dining space) ..open on the right side, hinges on the left...it just seems a more natural way to enter and exit that room without blocking the flow, natural light ?? If you do this , the open door will rest against a wall instead of open space....and no possibility of smacking into someone's face when opening it🥴🤭 Great progress and love your grey coat!

If you can swing it, washing your face in the airport bathroom rather than the airplane bathroom is probably better for your skin. I've heard that it's best to avoid drinking from the airplane tap, and if that's the case, I can't imagine putting it on your face when you're going to be following up with a lot of "sealing" products on top is the best ._.
