“One viewer might be interested…” 😁. I’ll come back to that later. Good to see the new website doing so well in such a short period of time, will be interesting to see how the Canadian sale goes ( and I noted their reason for selling, so I hope it goes well) especially when the buyer needs to collect if they’re from outside Canada! In my Lego news, attended Birmingham Lego fest on Saturday with fiancé and spent a very enjoyable few hours conversing with MOC builders / sellers (the Assault on Precinct 13 MOC was really well done). I also did a little purchasing of parts (found another of those weird slopes amongst the bulk) but no sets (£145 for the reissued / updated Classic Space cruiser? Given the over production of that set not sure it will make that price anytime soon, but then what do I know?). And the vegetable samosas were just on the right side of warm. Right KDDK time! Not surprised about the resale value; don’t think the Avenged Sevenfold live album is currently available (might get my colleague who is currently investigating finding me those two Ark albums you recommended on to the case…..) and some of the others I caught a glimpse of are also now on the rare side. Which is a conversation for another time, so much music like so many books (another passion of mine) just not being kept available for the casual listener/ reader to discover. Right, already have a rabbit hole lined up for today’s missive so moving on. The new Airbag album is coming from Norway, so I suppose technically that is an import? Which got me reminiscing about the old record shopping days of searching out said imports, Coverdale’s first solo album imported from France, Gary Moore’s Live in Japan (with I would argue the best version of Nuclear Attack committed to official recording) and paying at least twice the standard price of a normal LP. And then six months later finding the same albums no longer restricted to imports, being reissued, and a fraction of the price…. But such is the way of commerce! Anyway, on the cd player this week has been the new Axel Rudy Pell release with the usual high standard of playing with an interesting cover of Immigrant Song ( Given Pell’s reverence for Blackmore, I often wonder if the man in black if he were still playing 70s era Rainbow whether it would sound like Pell’s well entire oeuvre?), and Big Big Train (The Underfall Yard, re-released with bonus material, enjoyable listen which means another band to explore….) And, to bring this lengthy discourse (ramblings of a madman) to a close, came across on KZbin a song from Timo Tikkoli (not sure I’ve got the spelling right there and to lazy to check) ex Stratovarious guitarist / chief song writer with a track from his fifth solo album (5th? Bugger, better see if I can track down the other 4….) with a certain Mr Jeff Scott Soto on lead vocal…. CD ordered 😀. Hope Mrs Brick Arena suffered no ill effects from the decorating, see you on next week’s Vlog.

I had thought the CD's might pique your interest:) One quirk of the new website (that has had some comments on) is the fact that people can only see and make offers on stores in their own country. I do have a spot on the roadmap for some cross-border trading but would never expect someone in the UK to buy a store in Canada and vice versa. Glad you had a good time at Birmingham and that the show lived upto expectations (unlike some others of recent times). I think show prices (at least for sets) can be extortionate and best avoided if at all possible. KDDK - Your are probably responsible, in part at least, for me buying the CD haul due to the Avenged Sevenfold mentions and had me thinking this was a cost effective way to check them out. There's a lot of bands in there that I haven't checked out much as yet i.e. The Architects, Pendulum etc and some more general things I didn't have i.e Slash, Myles Kennedy etc. I know what you mean about imports, not to be confused with cutouts. The ones that stick out for me were some Steve Walsh (of Kansas) solo albums which I'm pretty sure weren't released here initially (though I could be wrong). I think they came into their own with CD's with the inclusion of bonus tracks. Now the BIG one for me this week has been coming across the band DarWin and particularly the "Five Steps On The Sun" album. What a surprise this was! It's like a mix of Dream Theater & Toto with a sprinkling of King's X style harmonies. I love it and have had it on pretty heavy rotation. There are some great musicians involved. Much of the rest of my time has been spent sampling snippets of bands to try and decide what Cd's I want to keep, but nothing firm to recommend. Can't wait to hear what you think of the Ark albums. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

I just noticed the stripe down the side of the clockwork soldiers trousers, I need to recheck the one I listed too. I just had a few taken down by bricklink for being incomplete so I better be careful. Still not made a sale yet though
@BrickArena6 ай бұрын
Yeah, when listing figs you need to be careful to check the inventory on Bricklink for the figure to check you have the right parts.

I used to add a small supplement (50p) to any order that was less than £1. I did it by setting up postages amounts with differing minimum and maximum amounts so it was all automatic. That way I did at least make a little money on the small orders. I still had quite a few orders but it was less of an issue with the supplement.

Thanks for packing my order so quick man. I’ve placed much smaller orders with other sellers and they sometimes take way longer. Believe it or not I came for 1 minifig head and ending up spending over £30 🤦♂️🤣🤣🤣

No problem 👍 - Glad you're impressed with the service. Happy you managed to get more than just a minifig head too :)

What would be the best way to get more sales into a store that is brand new do I have to go below the six month average or what is your advice? I have about 23,000 parts at the moment and adding more every single day.
@BrickArena6 ай бұрын
The best way is juts to keep adding items and growing your lot count. The more differing lots you have the more you will attract people looking for those parts. Dropping prices is a bad approach in my opinion as it hurts your margins and drags the future prices down for everyone.

Hello! Thanks for the videos. How do you store used parts after sorting? I’m finding that you need A LOT of containers for all the different colours & parts you come across in used bulk. Thank you!
@BrickArena3 ай бұрын
I store mine in several ways depending on size and qty. Some in small RAACO drawers, some in larger drawers and some in Really Useful 9ltr drawers (usually either in divider trays or in bags). There's no real getting around the fact that you do need a lot of storage unless using the bagging method, but this really slows down picking.
@TouchOfArsenal983 ай бұрын
@@BrickArena I’ve just spent an hour picking an order with 56 lots, so I feel the bagging issues 😂. Thanks for the reply!

Instead of setting a minimum order value try setting a 1-2 pound fee for orders und 1-2 pound. is is what i do as all the buyer has to do to get around it is add another 2 pound of pieces to the order or they can pay the small fee
@BrickArena6 ай бұрын
I could take that approach (I'll give it some thought) but rather than pay an extra 1-2 pound fee surely its easier to just add the parts to make upto £1.

Tesco will sell you a bag for life for 10p. ..... No order is too small. It's a bit of a closed minded opinion to take, especially if that person is also paying for the postage. Why not utilised their order to add to a newletter subscription, or to invite them to subscribe to the channel. A lot of songs are just 1 or 2 chords - does that make them a bad song?
@BrickArena6 ай бұрын
I used to think that too, but when you get a 10p order it just doesn't pay for the time and effort to pick pack and post the item. I'd turn that around and ask is it really that hard to find a few extra items you might need now or in the future to make it upto a £1.
