Im a delivery guy. Its much safer backing in because you can see everything as you approach your parking space. Then when you leave you see everything in front of you. When you park face forward, when you leave its much eaiser to hit something or someone because all you have is your side view mirrors. If ever there was a predatory policy this would be it. Statically, it is much safer to back your vehicle into a parking stall than it is to park head in. The only time you want to park head in is when you have groceries to load or if there are obstacles that could be damaged like pipes.

I've seen it in parking garages where I live. My state only requires rear license plates so they want to be able to scan the plates while driving through the garage. I've never seen it in a normal parking lot like in the video though.

They don't use the handbrake either, when I was in the states it was terrifying how the valets would just put the car in park, apparently the handbrake only exists as a decoration.
