It's not whether or not you can speak the language that makes you a true Filipino, but rather you being able to live by the values that make you uniquely Filipino, and being able to share that with the rest of the world. Being a 1st generation Filipino American, although my sister and I don't speak Tagalog (but can understand most of it), we've done a pretty good job of exposing our Filipino culture to our non-Filipino communities through food, music, hospitality, generosity, feeling of family and all those other wonderful values Filipinos are known for the world over. From this, non-Filipinos have a very positive view of our people and are interested in learning more which is really important in spreading the Filipino culture. Thanks Mom and Dad!

6 years? Kailangang kang magsalita sa Tagalog sa bawat pagkakataon!! Taga U.S.A. ako, at naging missionary ako doon noong 2010 hangang 2012. Dalwang taon lang yan! キタ キタ iskwad is a transliteration not a translation... its like saying eroplano is the tagalog translation for airplane when the most direct translation is salipawpaw... kuwadrilya is the direct translation for squad or you can use pangkat or pulutong, whatever strikes your fancy.

I bet this episode is an editing nightmare so much cuts haha but good vlog though.Sent my kids to study there in the Philippines my 15 y/o child after 2 years can speak fluent Tagalog now even with a pinoy accent but the 18 y/o can understand but can't still speak fluent tagalog because of the school she said they mostly speak english in DLSU and some of them speak english like Kris Aquino LOL taglish.

Maybe you should do another Tagalog vlog. I LOVED IT!! I was born and raised in the U.S. so my parents mostly spoke in English to me. Now that I am much older I have a greater interest to learn the language.

Some Filipinos struggle in speaking English because they were born and raised in this country na puro Tagalog ang gamit nila kaya naiintindihan ko ang hirap sa pagsalita mo ng Tagalog dahil your were born and raised in Canada. But I encourage you, slowly but surely, magiging magaling ka din sa pagsasalita ng Tagalog :)
