@@annephillips8494 Documentary's wrong. SRV was reportedly furious over Bowie playing lead in the video for this song.

We 'old' people, there from the beginnings of Bowie..know good music. He was for ALL his years..GREAT. Try-Wild is the Wind- a beautiful voice and instrumental song. The man had many phases of music. The years listed on that album cover.. were the music made in that time phase. Lord, I miss him, cried like a baby when I heard he had died. RIP

David Bowie. Classic. Hot. Absolutely one of a kind.

There's so much 'sound' in this song that if not done by such a consummate professional as David Bowie the song could sound 'crowded.' Everywhere some sort of sound or another could possibly be inserted, it was, but it was done perfectly.
@tonyparker39055 ай бұрын
The producer was responsible for that . This was produced by Nile Rodgers .

Wild song, definitely listen to extended version! Every girl had a crush on David Bowie, and if they said no they didn't, they were dead . Something in that voice of his. 😊

Bowie had a way of singing what sounds like off key notes and really making it work.

this was huge in the clubs when it came out, all the girls would dance to it.

He did a some so funky even James Brown had to compliment it. Give a listen to "Fame." "Let's Dance" extended version has some wild instrumental solos in it.

Unless I'm wrong, David Bowie ( pronounced like Bow and Arrow), is British. This is such a funky dance song and I was moving to it right along with you tonight! 😄 Whoever can't dance to this, simply can't dance !! Enjoyed this along with you .🤘

He's great! But the 7:38 album version is much preferable to this one, simply because SRV's solo is 3 minutes longer👍

The reason he probably put on the sexy voice was because he was singing to his woman. He married to a gorgeous super model from Somalia. Google Iman and hit images. You'll get it. :D RIP David Bowie.

David Bowie [pronc. key: "Boh-ee"]: "Joe The Lion"; "Always Crashing In The Same Car"; "Blackout"; "TVC 15"; "Fascination" (featuring & co-written with: Luther Vandross (PRE-fame!!)! Nope. No joke!); "Young Americans"; "Fashion"; ... tin machine (band) - "One Shot" (check out some of his deeper -and, still, classic!- works) The '80s were Bowie's "pop period." Nile Rodgers (the Producer/Engineer/Song-writer everyone is mentioning!) also: was a founding member of the band: CHIC [you SHOULD recognize: "Good Times" (one of the most sampled songs, EVAH!!) and "Le Freak" when you hear them!] along with the brilliant Bassist & song-writer: Bernard Edwards! [R.I.P. Bernard! 😭😭😭😭 🫂- Pure genius!🔥]. He also wrote & produced hits for: Sister Sledge (prior to this) ...but the Let's Dance album was his breakthrough as a Producer (He couldn't take a week off, for a decade, after this album hit!🤘🤘😛). He, also, plays some rhythm guitar on this album (although Bowie's '70s-'80s "guitar team regulars": Earl Slick 🔥 and Carlos Alomar 🔥, both, play on the album & the subsequent tour. Chic's "kit slaying" power-hitter drummer: Tony Thompson [😭😭😭🫂 also: R.I.P.], also, plays on this Bowie album!). ...As numerous others have been mentioning: a relative unknown Texas Blues guitarist. by the name of: Stevie Ray Vaughan plays a number of guitar solos on this album, as well (I think 4 or 5 ... Not ALL of them! Nope!)! 99% of people (esp. outside of South Texas) had never heard his name prior to hearing this song (and since he wasn't listed on the single, a lot of D.J.s had no idea who it was and did not mention him (until years later!) and, therefore: people didn't know AFTER hearing this song, either! ...but they HEARD him!! 🤘🤘😛 Yes: Stevie solos on this song. 👍👍 Bowie has a catalogue SO deep that most listeners can find themselves drowning in THE SHALLOW end (of it)! 😛🤘🤘

Davie Bowie, like a bowie knife. :)

In fact he chose the name Bowie because of the reference to the Bowie knife. His real last name was Jones, and there was already a musician named Davy Jones (lead singer of the Monkees).

His last name is pronounced Bo - wie. This song and album were produced by Nile Rodgers of the group Le Chic. React to his songs Ziggy Stardust, Starman, Young American, Changes, Heroes, Suffragette City, Golden Years, Ashes To Ashes, Fashion, Blue Jean, Modern Love and China Girl please.

You should check out David Bowie's song 'Space Oddity' and then Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield's own rendition of the song which he sang from the International Space Station with Bowie's approval. Bowie praised it "as possibly the most poignant version of the song ever created."

It's Bowie (like bow tie)....Try cuts from Bowie's Young Americans album with Luther Vandross back-up singers and David Sanborn on saxophone, like Somebody Up There Likes Me, Win, Fascination, Right and Can You Hear Me. Also Carlos Alomar funk on Secret Life of Arabia (Heroes album). His Let’s Dance album produced by Chic’s Nile Rogers (and it’s all good!). From Station to Station album: Stay. Also Black Tie, White Noise with Al B. Sure.…Tonight with Tina Turner... A friend of the the Black community - complained to MTV about Black videos being relegated to early morning. Married to Somali super-model Iman.
