This song is me I told my old lady to leave me for a few years before she took our daughter and left bc I knew I was holding her down and she would have a better life without me. I was an alcoholic at 14 and became an addict at 29 after being shot and put on pain killers and it takes over your life you can’t live without it you can’t sleep without it you can’t eat without it and at times you can’t eat bc of it. But it’s no way of life being on it. I’m proud of anyone that has been an addict of any kind and got away from it I’ve lost a lot of close friends and friends to drugs and alcohol. Anyone that’s sober right now coming from being an addict or even if you never was and can stay sober keep it up sober life truly is the best life.

I don't drink or do drugs, but there are other things I'm fighting everyday. Things that destroyed my life and got me divorced after 10 years. I so feel like this, like a failure and a lost cause. I wanna give up so bad, but I know that I can't and this song is spot on for me! Very powerfull!

He just won new artist of the year on cma awards. And he took us all to church accepting that award. He has a wonderful success story. Not just fame but sobriety custody marriage etc... A true inspiration to any addict or recovering addict. He influenced me from mikes away and doesn't know it or even knows my name. But this song saved my life and my husband's in many occasions

That moon and the stars is so emblematic because who hasn't look at the Moon with a loved one or saw a shooting star with them and both wished upon it. This song hits me deep cuz I feel every lyric being addicted and struggling to come out of it. Feeling like you ruin people telling them to stay away safer instead of trying to fix you.. sheesh. Always loved this song. It hits hard 😌

Man, I definitely love this song listen to it all the time. I can relate to the songs like this. I struggled with addiction in many ways for certain reasons. I like listening to them because I remember being in those positions and overcoming those trials and tribulations and obstacles in my life. I just lost a sister last October that struggled with addiction and seriously bro if you have the time check out FJ outlaw the addiction it's got a lot of meaning and it is very informational if that's the right way to put it of the struggles that addicts go through.
