This video shows why I have huge respect for bus drivers. It must be so difficult to handle snow like that. I would freak out if I start to slide on the road. Very interesting video! 👍👍

Great video once again my friend and fellow bus driver, I'm coming up to 40 years driving buses in all weather's across Europe and UK, and alway have a smile as people go into panic mode in snow, I liked the way you didn't panic you accepted the challenge, well done.

What a super fun video, as a viewer I was even very curious whether you could drive up the hill with the bus and that you wouldn't get stuck. But as my father always says, he is also a bus driver just like me "a real bus driver can do anything" 😂😂hahaha. It doesn't snow often here but when it does there is often a lot of stress and panic among passengers whether the bus will come. My father and I are drivers at bus company Arriva. Greetings from the Netherlands !! 👋 P.S Style of video is awesome !!!! Love to see more

Great video as always. Interesting to see how you cope... Something we don't tend to do well with in the UK. We don't get a lot of snow so drivers are inexperienced. We don't use winter style tyres usually on buses. We can't normally over-ride the gearbox... Just drive and reverse now but older buses still have 1-2-Drive which is helpful. I enjoyed the style of video too.

Because you're asking about wishes: I would find a few insights into the depot quite interesting, if that's allowed. How many depots are there at your company? I'm sure there's also a workshop, etc.? Otherwise, I think a mixture would be good for the future. I like both the pure rides between 20-60 minutes (without or with few cuts), as well as a shift summarized in one video like this.

Hey. Digger denne typen videoer. Good work! 👍

Truth is, the MAN vehicles are 2 faced... You can controle them in the worst weather by using the engine. What i always did in snow/ice keep the rpm's higher that way when the wheel wants to spin out of control it cant do too much since it's already against the revlimiter/governor... (like you did at around 16:15 ) at low rpm it can jump 1000rpm and that means you'll loose the momentum. Great video and excellent driving!
@kimsystad13 күн бұрын
That right turn on 15:55, I live just close to that area, and every time there is snowfall - a bus gets stuck just there. Is the reason that the gear is stuck in 3rd (because the same bus type)?

Are your routes 24/7? I live in a city of around 200,000 people in the UK, and most of the bus routes run between 0600 and 2300, and one of the routes finishes at 1900 despite running out of a hospital. Kind of mad to be in the middle of nowhere here, and still have a bus in the middle of the night.

In slippery conditions you would always miss your usual point to stop at a busstop. When snow and sludge build up a layer of ice, the spinning tyres basicly polish that spot and make it even more slippery.
@SSEnrich9 күн бұрын
Safety rounds? It is still done? In Sweden the cleaners/washing personnel is doing that. When you get to the bus just start the engine and then drive.
@BergenBusDriver8 күн бұрын
Yes, sir! Here, we have to take a safety round and see if the driver before us hasn't damaged the bus. The cleaner staff only checks the engine bay!

Jeez I thought y'all should be ready for snow in Norway :D Is there any reason to run articulated buses in the night though? Or does the operator have not enough rigid buses to cover all night lines? I feel like standard non-articulated buses would work at least a bit better in these conditions.
@BergenBusDriver19 күн бұрын
The operator, Skyss, requires articulated buses to be used on main lines, otherwise we get fines! But the fact is, shorter buses would cope much better in such conditions 😁
