This is my first Christmas, without my Dad. I never thought I was a Daddy's girl, until the day he was gone. I was blessed to be his only daughter for 55 years. Watching you has helped me to find joy; regardless, of the grief and pain. My parents met when they were just 14 years old. My Dad's Dad, my Grandpa (and Grandma) owned a small store / meat locker on the corner right across from where my Mom lived with her parents (my Papa and Nana). My Dad would work at the store, after school and on weekends. My Mom's parents would send her to the store to pick up a few supplies. My Dad was extremely shy and I guess my Mom was too. My Mom's runs to the store became a little bit longer and longer over time, because the two of them were inseparable! When summertime was over they both would be going to the same high school. They went to every school dance together and. It was right after graduation my Dad proposed to my Mom. My Mom was Catholic, so in order to be married in the Catholic Church my Dad became Catholic. They had a beautiful wedding and were blessed with a marriage of 76 years. My Dad passed on Good Friday of this year, so there were a lot of "first" without him. First Valentines was tough on my Mom. My family are California Natives from the Bay Area. My parents spent their first Valentine's Day together when my Dad bought his first car; a 1957 Chevy convertible red and white! My Mom would pack a picnic and they would spend their Valentine in Golden State Park frolicking about like lovebirds. My Dad was drafted into the Army and was deployed to Germany. Soon after he sent for his Bride. They were happy as long as they were together. I could go on and on about the love story of my parents, but I would soon run out of time. I don't understand why some of us live long lives and why some of us are only here for a short time. I have to believe there is a bigger plan for each and every one of us. The ones that must go on, without our loved ones seems impossible, but by God's Mercy and Grace we do. The day my Mom is gone will be the day all of this will make perfect sense. I began following your and Jenny's story about six months ago. Jenny's journey gives me Hope and the way you take strides with your children and family gives me strength. I am 56 years young fighting a disease, without a cure. I have been in a convalescent hospital for 9 years and on Hospice since May of this year. My children and grandchildren all live less than 5 miles away from the hospital, but I may see them every other month if I am lucky. I never ask why. That's for them to decide. What I do is keep all my memories close to my heart. Sometimes, life comes full circle. The hospital that I am in, I worked here 23 years ago. A good handful of the people that I worked with still work here. They have become a part of my family. I share God's word and pray for the ones who need Christ in their lives. I will continue to follow your journey, because through your journey it brings me joy and happiness. God bless you and your children Jenny is on the other side watching over you. Find joy in the little things that life has to offer... PS I see Ladybugs🐞 and I think of Jenny!

My first Thanksgiving and Christmas without my precious, beloved son, who died in June. Incredibly difficult. I'm glad, Kyle, that we who grieve can meet here, grieve together, and encourage each other. This is such a hard time for those who've suffered heartbreaking loss. Those of you who have, be encouraged❤🙏

My condolences for your loss. My brother died July 2023. I have been getting really bad chest and back pain that the Emergency room said isn't a heart attack they said it was anxiety. It comes and goes. I hope I stop getting that soon. How are your other children dealing with the loss? I joined a sibling grief group on Facebook.
@donnabaardsen5372Ай бұрын
Oh, Elanna, I'm so sorry for your loss! And I understand completely. I don't have anxiety, just a very deep, bottomless pool of grief. This isn't something that anyone gets over. Rather, it's putting one foot in front of the other every second, and trusting that God has us in his care 24/7. I encourage you to grieve your precious brother exactly as you need to, no expiration date! AND, stay close to God. I know I won't survive without doing these things daily, from when I wake up, until I go to bed. Eiric was my only child, I'm so sad to say. My promise to him and God, is to honor him in every way until either Jesus comes back and resurrects him and re-unites us, or I'm laid to rest beside him. God bless and comfort you, Elanna. 🙏❤️

Loving Winnies Xmas tree. I love Ellis's stones I have a collection too. I got my kid's helping with some dishes. Plastic cups and then knife's, forks, spoons. They progressed till they learned to dry them good. We don't own a dish washer. We made OT fun while listening to songs we loved and sing while drying. Those were the best times. Did it for cooking too. My adult kids still remember the fun. Just an idea.

Not downing vegans but do you give them kiddos vitamins?
@toocooltobecruelАй бұрын
Believe it or not, non-veggie kids and adults lack vitamins more than vegans. Almost all vitamins are found in vegetables and fruits, and vegans consume plenty of those. B12 used to be the only nutrient that vegans couldn’t get from a plant-based diet, but that has changed now, as most vegan products are fortified with B12. Do you also ask about the nutrient levels of kids who regularly eat at KFC and McDonald’s?
