What a gorgeous backyard! A Master Gardener once told me never pull up anything in your new yard until you go through a complete year…people have accidentally pulled out all sorts of wonderful bulbs, etc thinking they were weeds. Here in the South the pruning advice is that it is usually safe for shrubs after the first hard freeze. Don’t prune anything that blooms in the Spring/late Winter like your azaleas, camellias, etc. because you will be cutting off the blooms for the spring. My husband once “helpfully” pruned my camellias in September and I didn’t have any blooms for 18 months! I’m an avid Southern gardener myself in the same Zone 7b as you.

It's a really pretty back yard but you said you have yet to close, I take it you had owner permission to walk around, open gate, etc.? Is there a garage back there or did I miss it?

Yes we had permission and I was there to pick up something was delivered. We contacted realtor prior.

if you wrap the tree tightly with a bed sheet, then add plastic wrap outside of that, you won't have to take it apart at all. you will have to refluff it though :)

Can you actually leave items at your rental? When we used to rent (so long ago, I will admit) we couldn't leave anything there. Selling a house, we could offer it to the buyers, but had to remove if the answer was no thank you. At any rate, love to see your vlogmas.

Getting excited! Apparently there are some hedges and trees who can cut in the late fall/ early winter-they actually do better that way because they’re less prone to disease. I was just reading this on Martha Stewart.😅 P.S., I wasn’t kidding when I said, wrap your entire Christmas tree in plastic and move it the way it is-Saran wrap it up :)

Can you explain how you you moved there bought a house and then were able to sell it to get another house in such a short time. How does that work? I didn’t know that was possible. I’m a first time home owner but I wish I had known that before, because I had homeowners regret with my current home and I wish I didn’t purchase it. I hope it makes sense what I’m asking.

Go to Home Depot or Lowe’s and get the saran wrap for packing and wrap the tree. And then just put the whole tree in the back of your car. I have heard of people doing that every year so they don’t have to decorate their tree every year. 😂

I grew up on See’s My aunt always gave us Easter see’s candies. My husband gets it for me for Valentine’s and my birthday in the boxes… but love to get seasonal of theirs,too, especially Easter eggs in honor of my aunt My favorite everyday ones: butterscotch square ( brown sugar lovers heaven ), peanut butter crunch, Bordeaux, and white chocolate brittle Seasonal: love eggnog truffles, mint with wreaths, Easter eggs …always get walnut chocolate one as my aunt gave those to me … their jelly bird eggs, and variety small decorated eggs to name a few
