gretchen I'm sorry you had to deal with those people! It is sad to say that I don't think you are the only one and the majority of us here can relate to similar instances. I HOPE EVERYONE READS THIS AND TAKES AWAY THAT... smile. please smile today at someone you don't normally talk to in the hallways or your schools janitor or anyone. say thanks. say have a nice day. Even though its hard sometimes with people being rude or mean, make sure to smile and spread your positivity because it is worth so much more. You never know what someone is going through and that smile can make their day (or even save a life). Sometimes we forget as humans how much we all rely on each other. I hope that if you are having a bad day, you take a minute to smile. Although hard, we have the ability to turn our day around and to turn someone else's around to. If anyone is dealing with mean people/going through a rough time, please know it gets better and you are worth so much more. You have to sometimes go through the hard times to get to the amazing ones. Remember that lovelies! Smile for yourself as well as anyone who needs it and spread positivity :)

Yeah that's what I didn't like about high school... I hated feeling like I did my best and it wasn't remotely enough.. Especially for people you thought appreciated you but really some of them are insensitive and immature. I see how hard you work and you deserve to feel appreciated! I've always admired you because you are so truly beautiful and kind but as soon as I saw you unhappy because some kids got you down it made me so sad but yet you were so kind and spoke true words! People can be so mean and hurtful weather they mean to be or not. But when that happens you have to keep your head up and even though you are hurt its the way you react that make all the difference. There was always a poster of this quote in one of my elementary classes, and I never knew what this meant. But after listening to what happened during school for you, it just clicked to me. People don't realize what effect words have on people. So sorry about how depressing this comment seems, but I just wanted to tell you this on your video because you are my role model. Hey girl, I just recently found your channel. You remind me so much of myself in high school, even down to the people being mean who you thought were your friends. My best advice is keep being the great girl you are, you'll never be able to please everyone. Just have a kind heart and the people who truly love you will be the ones to stay in your life. this video honestly was just what i needed. i had just gotten home from work at which a guy who i work with and have known forever isn't very nice to me and isn't a nice person and he really hurt my feelings and seeing "dealing with mean people" i felt better already. you helped me feel not so alone on things. i don't understand how people can be so mean and then be fake but I'm sorry what happened to you and your not alone. merry xmas!

Gretchen just know that those people feed off of each other as well... so even if one person started snickering or whatever and saying they don't like it, it could be that everyone kind of started feeding off that because it's "fun" to gossip and what not. so don't feel too bad about it, just know that your hard work paid off. your grade will probably be really great and that is truly all that matters. not the other peoples irrelevant opinions. have a great christmas gretchen

People don't really mean to be rude, and usually act rude because they don't understand the extent of how much they can hurt you. No one wants to be a horrible person, and it sucks that sometimes we act that way to each other. Your voice was sad but I loved the way you smiled at the end anyway. Keep being such a bubbly person, and the people who said they don't like you...don't even worry about them! Reality is- no one will ever fully appreciate what we do and the hard work we put in sometimes.. Especially in high school.. It gets better I hear after, but that is for you to find out lol.. You are right, it is nice to be liked by people, and upsetting to hear that others don't feel the same, but hey, everyone is different and we all like different things.. We can't be liked by everyone( no matter how sweet you are girly ) ... And knowing you are so beautiful not just on the outside, but On the inside as well, it can be intimidating and some people may envy that in a negative way, and become jealous. She would come home crying because of reasons like you explained today in your video.. I would see my sister get used and wanted only when she was needed- for her brains and heart and she could never see that these people should mean nothing to her because of how sweet she was.. How big and caring her heart was.. But you just have to be reminded, not everyone is how they seem.. We can all put on a face and act like we like someone, but it's those who know how to stay away from that and guard the heart a bit. Stay positive girls, and do not let people rain on your parade.
