Congrats again! Also I had to laugh as Jessica slipped it in this vlog too when GiGi was feeding the toy baby. She said Sibling at first then said "she" won't be eating solid foods for awhile. This was before you guys figured out it was slipped in the prior video. I think it's so cute to announce it unplanned like this versus a gender reveal. Houseplant repotting tips - Choose pots that are only about 2 inches larger in diameter than the current pot. I always kill plants that I try to up-pot into pots too large for them. Fresh soil - pour boiling water over top of the soil to sterilize/kill off any fungus gnats eggs before you plant. Fungus gnats in your house will be the most annoying thing you’ll ever encounter. Use slow release fertilizer spikes/pellets (I fertilize on the lower end of the spectrum…about every six months).

HOUSEPLANT TIPS: I always learned that you should leave the plants alone in winter besides a close look at the humidity in your house, and repot and do drastic things to them in spring. In spring they are the strongest and can heal better from changes to their home.

Houseplants! 🪴 Hey Tyler, you should try to wait until spring to transplant the houseplants. They’re going dormant now for winter. If you must, don’t fertilize until Spring. I like good ol’ Miracle Grow Indoor Plant Food (the liquid one) and the Miracle Grow Moisture Control potting soil. Also, I don’t think your spider plant is getting enough light ( the one up on the ledge).

For house plant repotting make sure you add good fertilizers (like worm castings) because it helps feed the soil / plants longer. For spiders, make sure to trim all of the babies off when repotting and just put the babies mini pots.

Repotting houseplants, all the ones I saw in your video could follow this advice. Only go up about one pot size, maybe two at most. Get potting soil, add perlite and orchid bark to make sure it drains well and doesn't stay wet too long. Basically add an amendment to the soil because I've never really had a store bought soil that was chunky enough. All of the plants in your video like to dry out completely. Don't trim roots unless they are dead, dry or mushy and don't disrupt the root ball a ton when repotting. Hope that helps!

I am not the best with houseplants, but I do know that spider plants won't produce babies unless they are root-bound. As long as the roots aren't blocking the drainage hole, you can leave them root bound for 1-2 years.

Tyler you are my hero. When I wake up a three in the morning and am hungry the only thing I reach for is a bowl of plain cheerios. Nothing like them. My family laughs at me but there is something about plain cheerios that just satisfies the early morning hunger.

Tips for repotting: Try not to disturb too many roots but try to change as much soil as possible because old soil has often no nutrients left and repot when its time to water the plants this is because there is less chance to get root rot from overwatering☺️👍🏼✨🪴also recommend for the entire year biohumus or ”worm castings” to water with, you mix water and castings, let it sit for 30min-1h then stir it upp just before watering and this is filled with nutrients!☺️🪴do not use chemical fertilizers the chance for root rot and or fried roots increase / Julia 🙋🏻‍♀️✨ (plant mom from Sweden and a fan of both your channels!)

I find that Snake plants and spider plants both prefer being root bound so if you don't WANT to repot those, they really don't need it.

Best time to repot would be spring and summer. And I personally don’t repot them unless I actually want them to grow bigger. If you want to keep it in the same pot, you can just change out the top few inches of soil for new soil

Lol…it took me way too long to catch it in yesterday’s vlog… getting caught back up on Vlogmas after a busy week. There’s 3yrs 3months btwn our two girls and on the first day we realized it was the perfect age difference. Our older daughter adored her baby sister but was independent enough to understand that baby needed the most ‘help’ and would help us with everything with her sister…and yet they are still not too far apart that they can’t play or talk, and relate to each other. 14 & 11 now, & they still get along so well… ❤️

I love plain cheerios, too, but only if i dump sugar on top 🤣 I would wait til spring to repot, and also don't size up too much in pot size. My favorite soil is Fox Farms Organic Oceans Forest soil. My plants are happy, and no fungus gnats the way Miracle-Gro has gnats. I also always add extra perlite, charcoal and small orchid bark for drainage and a handful or 2 of worm castings.
