Vlogmas Days 21 & 22: Gift Wrapping, Gingerbread Cookies & Winter Solstice Magic 🎄

It’s the last weekend before Christmas, and the festive spirit is in full swing! Join me as I wrap gifts, bake gingerbread cookies, and spend time playing cozy board games. We also took a trip to see a magical train show, which was such a delight!
I share a bit about my latest knitting projects and reflect on the winter solstice - the longest night of the year - while looking forward to the gradual return of light.

Merry Christmas and a Bless it New Year. I just finished watching Flannel and Purls, he shows getting is yarn from sheep to needles. All while he reading A Christmas Carol. It was so relaxing to be knitting and listening. 😊

My kids love Catan! The competition can get fierce 😂 From your previous (?) episode… your walks with Dad are so heartwarming. He seems a lot like my own…just always a good, uplifting time together. And an interesting history to that property, with hardly a trace left behind of its former activity.

Oh, having a sick doggie is the WORST! I hope she is back to normal soon, although I know with older dogs the recovery time can be longer. Also, I meant to comment back when you shared about your mental health journey on a video last week, but I resonated so much with all of your thoughts. I had severe PPD/A after having my first child, and I had a really hard time leaving my house during that time period. It also took me many years to be ready to talk at all about that time and to feel like my story might be helpful to others.

I love going to thrift stores and finding treasures so I have enjoyed watching you and Lilly go on your thrifting adventures. I shared your video of the train display with my husband today. He just retired from owning a toy train hobby store for over 30 years. He was very impressed with the display you visited. I have played many games of Catan over the years with my sons. The game they are most interested in these days is Wingspan. That may be one your family might enjoy also. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy and healthy New Year! ❤

Your home always looks so cozy! I LOVE Mediterranean food and yours looked sooooo good! We are very blessed to have a Greek restaurant about 36 miles from us. We are in the middle of nowhere Arkansas so that is saying a lot! 😍 We don’t really do gifts with anyone for Christmas but I did send two packages to Oregon and one got there but somehow one ended up in Pittsburgh (just so happened to be the Raggedy Ann that I made for my sister). I am trying not to stress about it getting there by Christmas but praying that it will and in one piece. 🌻🎄

Oh, sorry Molly is feeling sick. Hope she is better by now. Glad you are doing better too. I saw a Patons Kroy in your stash in a color I'm not familiar with. So I had to pause and go to Yarnspirations since they have a great collection. (Ones that I can't get locally at JoAnn for sure.) And they had a 40& off sale! I buy Kroy whenever I can hit a good sale since it's what I knit for giving away to others, and it's a good sturdy sock yarn. Now I'll have a good stash to pick from. Score!!
