I was in Portree about a month ago and went to the Catholic Church on a Saturday for mass, the lovely older gentleman leading the Christmas carols at Birch (who I now know is Donnie Munro, and someone famous in Scotland), was also in mass and so very friendly and welcoming of this solo traveler just looking for some familiarity that day, in church. Later that afternoon I walked to The Cullins Hotel for lunch and passed him by, working in his garden and he said “hello again”. And now to see him in your Vlog and learn about him and his band, so lovely….its like seeing an old friend again. ❤ thank you for this lovely sentiment Caroline, only possible due to your vlogs.

Caroline, glad he got a treat before Xmas. Long drive home there, the scenery must be distracting. I could see you guiding visitors and everyone adoring your nature. You just have a storyteller way about you. Adore the little tidbits shared. One thing you said I must agree with. You should stay in a place before deciding to move there. People and surroundings make a welcoming home, along with the pace. Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦

I once went to Dave the Laugh from Angus Thongs actor's gig when I was fifteen and we met him at the end - it was my friend's idea and I was so shy it was mortifying

Met Pierce Brosnan at my job and got to ask him for travel tips in Ireland, he seemed very pleased at the question actually and rattled off a list while I scribbled them down on a post it note!

Never ran into anyone notable but I do have a hen who'll stand on my knee when I sit in the chicken house! Plus she makes me breakfast, so I guess she is a rock star!🐔💫

Love your carol singing! For Lee's question: Crazy that you would mention The Proclaimers, because my husband (also named Lee) and I are both professors and when the semester is over we have to play The Proclaimers' "Over and Done With" as our celebratory song for finishing school up! We have had this tradition for years, I tell you. As far as my famous people stories go, here's a good one-- favorite band in the world is Cocteau Twins (2/3 are from Grangemouth Scotland) and I have gotten to meet them and tour their studio (Sept. Sound) in the 90's. It was beyond my wildest dreams magical. (You asked for a tedious story, right? Hee hee.)

My father in law drove the tour bus for Genesis on one of their European tours. Also, when I was at uni in Aberdeen (this is over half my lifetime ago!) I snogged the lead singer of a band called The Wedding Present in a nightclub called Owlies. I didn’t know him or who the band was and I didn’t even fancy him 🫤
