Jessica, I am 72 years young and I love your channels. Your reviews, your honesty, your vulnerability, are all part of why I so enjoy your content. I am a mom of 2 ( now 45 & 47), and when I watch you and Tyler do Vlogmas, it is like a blast from my past. My husband and I have been so blessed to be each others best friends for 55 years. We banter like you guys and your Vlogmas warm my heart. I also worked at the school my kids went to, so I just so relate to you. I can only imagine the work that goes into posting a daily video…..please know how much your content means to so many in your community. Wishes that you have an amazing holiday season and health and happiness in the New Year.

I just needed to say, I don't comment much but I needed to express how special your vlogs are to me. I was so happy watching the first one yesterday and afterward I tried branching out to other vlogmas creators on YT and I have to say, I didn't find any that I vibed with like you guys. I've watched since around 2018-19 and every year it makes me so happy since my holiday time hasn't always been a happy experience and I feel like you guys really make it so fun and amazing, even with the small things you do. A great escape, thank you for sharing with us 💜💜💜

So I am a Pastry chef from the Netherlands however being half dutch, half American I was always looking for a good sugar cookie recipe (as the dutch don’t really eat those here). This recipe is the one! After baking (and tasting) so many THIS ONE IS IT!😂 recipe: Ingredients: 230 g butter (room temperature) 150g (3/4 cup) vegetable oil 250 g sugar + more. 95 g powdered sugar 2 Tablespoons Water 2 eggs (room temperature) 2 g (1/2 teaspoon) baking soda 2 g (1/2 teaspoon) cream of tarter 6 g (1 teaspoon) salt 700g flour Cream butter. Add vegetable oil, sugars, water and eggs. Cream well. Combine dry ingredients in separate bowl. Slowly add to butter mixture. Mix until everything is combined. (Dough should be a little crumbly, not at all sticky. Measure 30 g of dough, roll into ball and place on lined cookie sheet. Put + 50 g of sugar and a pinch of salt on a plate. Slightly wet the bottom of a glass with vegetable oil. Stick the bottom of a glass in the sugar. Firmly press the sugar covered glass into the center of the dough ball. The dough should spill out over the sides of the glass making a lip. Bake at 175 for 7 minutes, until the bottom is barely brown. Cool cookies on rack. Sour Cream Frosting 115 g butter (room temperature) 120 g sour cream (room temperature) 700 g powdered sugar pinch of salt 1 teaspoon vanilla Cream butter. Add sour cream and salt and cream together. Slowly add powdered sugar. (Add food coloring until blended.) Store cookies in a sealed container until they are ready to serve.

As a former pastry chef from Canada, I thought I'd just start a little chain of pastry chef-recommended recipes here! Years ago when the Levain cookies in NYC became popular, I formed an obsession with recreating that crunchy exterior, gooey interior style of cookie. I discovered an amazing copycat recipe that is fairly foolproof: the flavour and technique is hard to mess up. (In case you're concerned for your kiddos: although the idea is to slightly underbake the inside, the eggs and flour will have heated up enough that it should have reached high enough temps to be considered safe to eat.) Levain Bakery-Inspired Chocolate Chip Cookies: -1 cup butter (room temp) -1/2 cup white sugar -3/4 cup brown sugar -2 eggs -1 tbsp vanilla (I eyeball this because you can literally never have too much vanilla) -1 cup cake flour (OR just substitute 1 tbsp of all-purpose flour with 1 tbsp cornstarch) -1.75 cups all-purpose flour (if your environment is dry, starting off with 1.5 cups is helpful...just get it to a 'normal' cookie dough consistency) -1 tsp baking powder -1 tsp baking soda -1/2 tsp salt -2 cups chocolate chips (Yes, it seems excessive, but trust the process. These cookies are meant to be jam-packed with yummy things. Also, I like to use chocolate chunks or chopped up chocolate, and I like to use a variety of darkness levels) -2 cups walnuts (pecans are amazing too) *This recipe is less labour-intensive if you use a stand mixer: once you add all the ingredients, it's difficult to properly mix with a hand mixer. 1. Cream the butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla as you would within a standard cookie recipe. 2. Add the dry ingredients until ALMOST completely mixed in. You should still see unmixed flour (this will keep you from over-mixing the flour when you add in the rest of the ingredients). 3. Add the chocolate and nuts and complete mixing the dough. 4. Portion into balls, not pressing them too firmly. For a bigger cookie, I like to weigh out 130-150g of dough. 5. Bake at 400degrees F for about 12 minutes (again, use your own judgement based on your oven and size of cookie). Cookies should have a golden exterior without any translucence (which can indicate a very underbaked cookie), but too golden/brown might result in a cookie that's too baked all the way through. 6. Allow cookies to cool completely for the optimal textural experience. ENJOY!!! I really hope you try these cookies. I've been watching you two for years and I rarely leave comments on KZbin, but you feel like pals. If you ever have any need for other recipes or knowledge that a 30-something Canadian girl could offer, feel free to be in touch :) PS: @amyruijgrok3849 I will be saving your recipe and giving it a try!

The Puffy Shirt is so classic - right up there with the Marine Biologist. I can't count how many times I've watched through Seinfeld. I spent 3 years in grad school for art and I had an old, black and white 13-inch tv and a VCR in my studio. The dozens and dozens of VHS tapes i made in high school of Seinfeld got me through A LOT of late nights and show prep. It will always be my #1. Never gets old.

Every year at work we have a holiday cookie exchange party, the rules are the cookies have to be made from scratch and the recipe has to be provided for the other party goers to take home with them. It’s been a really fun way to try other recipes and we vote for most festive, best tasting, most creative and best packaging. I’ve made s’mores cookies and last year I made browned butter toffee chocolate chip cookies, which are a labor of love but so so good

Not a biscuit person (cookies as you folk call them) so here’s a date recipe: 250g pipless dates 4 tbsp desiccated coconut, cocoa powder and solid coconut oil 1/2 cup of pumpkin seeds, pistachios and rolled oats. Chop (food processor) all dry ingredients and mix in a bowl. Chop (processor) dates (if dates are hard, zap in microwave for about 30 seconds) Add dates and coconut oil to bowl and mix. (I’ll zap the mixture in the microwave for a minute if the coconut oil being stubborn) Smoosh into a slice tray and refrigerate until hard. Test and adjust to your preferences

My mannn! So you don’t have to high tail it back to the office (in the 1st vlogmas episode) when you need files/assets, you should look into getting a NAS (network attached storage). Basically it’s used for storing and accessing data over the network. You can have it set to automatically back up your data on a regular interval and then download/upload files from wherever in the world (look into Synology). Think of it as your own cloud storage but with much more capacity/flexibility for a one-time price that is cheaper in the long run. -cheers from NC, my gf has watched you guys religiously for ~6 years and when we met she put me on to the channel and now it’s my go-to for all wholesome content! Also fyi, bang on with the Egypt videos! Got us looking at adventures by Disney now!

There was a cookie place at the mall growing up where we got these chocolate marshmallow cookies. They were super sweet and you couldn't or shouldn't finish one on your own. I had a craving for them a while back, but the shop no longer exists and I live a five hour drive from that mall, so I tried to recreate the recipe. This is the closest version I came up with. Chocolate Marshmallow Cookies 1/2 cup butter, softened 1 cup sugar 1 egg 1/2 cup oil 1 tsp vanilla 1 3/4 cups flour 1/2 cup cocoa 4 oz bakers chocolate 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt Marshmallow cream Cream butter and sugar. Add egg Add oil and vanilla. Mix well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Stir into mixture. Finely chop bakers chocolate and fold into mixture. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Press a measuring cup into each cookie. Pipe marshmallow cream. Return to the oven for 2-4 minutes. Cool completely on a wire rack. Frost with icing. For Icing 6 Tbl butter 1/4 cup cocoa 1/4 cups milk 4 oz bakers chocolate 1 tsp vanilla 2-3 cups powdered sugar Combine butter, cocoa and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a low boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and pour over bakers chocolate. Add vanilla. Let sit for a minute before stirring. Cool to room temp. Beat in powdered sugar a little at a time to thicken. Pipe over cooled cookies.
