Welcome to Vlogmas with me, Queenie of London! Every day through December,, I will bring you a little London festivity!
It's day 10, it's Saturday and it's curtain up on Panto season at the London Palladium. Join me outside the stage door, for a little history of the world's most famous theatre. We'll have a little look at how Liberty's windows depict the 12 days of Christmas and I'll show you what the West End is really like on a shopping Saturday in December! What's going on along Regent Street - will I ever get back home?!
Thank you for watching! QX

I used to love Christmas shopping in London most years but seeing those crowds makes me realise why I just don’t enjoy it anymore. This is why I really appreciate your Christmas vlogs so I can view all my usual places from the comfort of my own home. Keep up the good work Queenie xx

Aww, thank you for coming with me! I love filming when I have a few facts to share - researching and learning more about London is fun! I had to stop off in my local BOOTS halfway to my house to stand under their heating! Haha! I hope you are having a great week so far! Qxx

Lovely to hit central London with you Queenie - almost like being back in the fray again! So nice to see London all lit up. Shame about the travel chaos, you know that had you started walking an empty bus would have whizzed by - it's always the way... Condolences on the footie, at least there's enough Christmas spirit around for England to drown it's sorrows 😭 Sounds like the temps are getting nippy enough to introduce mandatory mulled wine on your wanderings - keep yourself cosy Queenie! 💚☃❄

Aw i'm so sorry your night was messed up but you're home and warm. I loved the London Palladium especially. I was in London in 1982 and '86. I saw Michael Crawford in Barnum. Just magic. Do you know that the Stage Door area wasn't highlighted at all so i couldn't find it. No wall of fame either. Love the Palladium and Liberty. ♥️🌲🎊

Hiya! :) Crawford ❤️ that must have been SO incredible! I've seen clips of that show...DAZZLING! Yes, it's good they've made more of fhe stage door now, the wall of fame is relatively new - a nice touch! Thank you so much for watching, I'm so glad you enjoyed it - I always live doing some reading around before showing you guys things and learning new things about London! Qxx

Loved the way you started this video on the bus, and that wonderful music that you used, fantastic. Thank you all the interesting info on the Palladium, and the mention of Peter Pan, again, I have a very interesting book about JM Barrie, called J M Barrie and The Lost Boys - The Real Story Behind Peter Pan, written by Andrew Birkin. Interesting, and clever windows in Liberty. Oh dear, all those crowds. You must have been nearly in tears by the time you got home, it sounded horrendous.

Your book collection increasingly sounds like the stuff of my dreams!, Barry! I must do a little bus video soon - the number 11 is the BEST for incredible sightseeing! Thank you so muxh! I really LoVED the Liberty windows, all those lively prints on show! Qx

@@QueenieofLondon Thank you, I have loads of books, quite a lot about London too. For nostalgic reading about London's Piccadilly, my favourite is Goodbye Piccadilly, written by Walter Macqueen Pope, I have the reprint from 1972. I'm very much interested in scents too, in fact I used to review them on various perfume forums, in fact, I'm Royalty just like yourself, I was known as Prince Barry. I think a bus video would be excellent.

A lovely vid as always Queenie, thank you! I love panto, I introduced my American hubby to a panto with Jim Davison in and he laughed so hard his ribs hurt lol. Dawn French and Julian Clary sounds fab, just the right peeps for panto. Your journey home sounds awful. Might be time to invest in an emergency box of hot chocolate and reviving treats especially for days like that! xx

Excellent stream Queenie. I do love The Palladium, last show I saw there was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang starring Brian (It's only a puppet) Conley. It was a great show. Wizard of Oz sounds a great show. I do love the film, always watch this on Boxing Day, Boxing Day is not Boxing Day without it. Bruce Forsyth was and always will be a legend, he was Mr London Palladium Strictly was never the same when he sadly passed. Liberty's is a lovely store, the building is Iconic. Look forward to your next vlogmas Enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a great week ahead 👍🏻😁 Did it snow in London in the end 🤔 Say hello to Alfie 👍🏻👍🏻😁🎄⛄

Hi Lee! Oh, I so agree about Bruce and strictly! It felt horrible the first year workout him and to be honest, I've never really got into it as much since. He was brilliant - do you remember when he did Gangnam Style?! Hahaha! We had snow on Sunday evening - a dusting which caused chaos! How wonderful Chitty Chitty must have been woth the great BRIAN! 👍 Legend. I haven't been to see a show in the longest time, so I need some theatre magic soon. Hope you're having a good week so far, Lee. Thank you so much for watching :) Qxx

Judy Garland played the Palladium a number of times ... first in 1951 for a four-week engagement the first of many return appearances, notably at the Royal Variety Show in 1957, her solo show An Evening With Judy Garland in 1960, and as part of the famous series Sunday Night At The London Palladium in 1963. She also appeared there in 1964 with daughter Liza Minnelli.

Wow! What a nightmare trying to get home! I don't know how you do it! I never knew that Pantomime was a thing until Katherine took George and Charlotte to one. I was confused. What is it? A game of charades? A puppet show? I will have to look it up. In our town, the college theater program does a musical at Christmastime every year. I swear, if they do Cinderella or Sound of Music one more time.... and can I give you my dissertation on "artistic minimalism" in stage settings? Thanks again for all the efforts of a surely frustrating evening! Xoxo
