I work from home and my husband is disabled, so forced retirement. I am happy to have my own space in the house. In our last house, he would be a bit much, but here, I have a craft room/office. I can shut the door. It’s perfect!

The gingerbread blanket is beautiful. I did mine and I thoroughly enjoyed making it. Can’t wait for week 2 now. I’m doing the Gift of Christmas cal blanket too and trying to finish my Northeasterly so I’m ready to start something new in December with my advent. I always react the same as you when hubby goes out on his own, which doesn’t happen very often 🤣. I couldn’t live without him especially after these last 3 years as I’ve been getting cancer treatment and he is my rock. All finished now and still clear…long May it last!!!

Jeanette can totally relate when you have alone time …. My husband rarely has to work away but when he does I love it!!! I feel really peeved when it gets cancelled haha he says “I’m going to upset you now … the job has been cancelled” he knows I love my quiet time x

Hi Jeanette your gingerbread crochet square looks great.i used to do alot of papercraft butbturned to sewing and soft crafts which i found so much more portable.I do hope Timothy manages to sort outvthe plunbing problem and dlthough my husbsnd retired 25yrs ago i still feel that having time on my own is important .dont get me wrong i luv him to pieces andbb5ing disabled he helps me do much but i find it very hard to adapt to 2 people in the kitchen if u know what i mean.hsve a wonderful weekend with your daughter.take care Paulinexx

Hi Jeanette, loving all your crafts ~ you get so much done! You and Davina ( littleworkroom crafts) are so enthusiastic about the gingerbread cal that I bought one too. My first ever cal. I hope you don’t mind me saying but have a look at the roof of your gingerbread house as I think you’ve missed a few white stitches. I hope I’m wrong.🤞🏻 oh my husband is threatening retirement soon ~ he’s way past retirement age as he loves working so I’m enjoying my freedom at home while I can.😂

My husband has Alzheimers and living in a lovely care home now after my sons and Zi have cared for him alone for the last 7 1/2 years. We go to visit him every other day , so please really appreciate your Timothy and give him a big hug!! Just love your vlogs, you’re like a breath of fresh air!! Hi Jeanette, have a fabulous time with your daughter. I'm lucky because mine lives 5 minutes away by car but 20 minutes walk (it slightly uphill going and I'm not getting any younger 🤣). You don't need to explain about retired husbands, mine retired at 65 and he's 84 in December, that's 19 years 😲 The biggest bugbear is that he follows me around the house and is nearly up my back seeing what I'm doing. I love the blanket and you're well ahead with your Advent Sweater, you've got 13 days left in October and you're doing number 21. By the way was the word "Nutcracker" the one you were looking for instead of soldier? x

@@craftycleggscreations I've been retired for 22 years, except I've never really retired because I looked after my two granddaughters 5 days a week, and after the second one started Primary School, I volunteered at their school! Even now when one is at University and the other is having a Gap year, I'm a taxi driver taking them to and from their part time jobs! Needless to say their parents work full time. We are all very close, my oldest granddaughter slept at our house when she was 4 days old and they still have their bedroom here x

Hi Jeanette, I need help, I am making santas little helper and I am stuck with the row 24 on legs, it says 24 sc + 10 extra (24) I did 10 extra sc but if I do 10 extra does that mean 34, if anyone can help me as I am relatively new to arigurumi I have read pattern over and over and thought would reach out to this lovely community. I started head now until I can figure it out. Many thanks
