Paula, I have been anxious my entire life. At times it was better but over all (I am 55) it was awful. Last year I got to the point that my heart was feeling like it was skipping beats. Not just one or two. It felt like every other beat of my heart was a skip. I told my doctor and she put me on an anti-anxiety medication and within 2 weeks my heart was back to normal and I have been feeling so good. It isn't a kind that puts me to sleep in fact I do not even know I am on anything. If I forget to take it or get off my schedule I can feel my heart skip a bit. Nobody should have to live with anxiety. I tried the therapist option, meditation, and rest. The only thing that has ever worked is the medication. Thank you very much for just talking about it like it is just another medicine for just another ailment because you are right, it is! I think you have helped many people by saying what you said today.

I'm glad your doctor could help! Those sorts of physical symptoms of anxiety are so scary cos you don't know what's going on. When I get them, they just make me even more anxious.

Paula, I loved hearing all about you. I feel like you are the daughter I never had. I was a Nurse here in NY for 35 years. I loved being a Nurse but it made me a nervous wreck & I also brought it home with me. I would often call back to where I worked after I got home to make sure I told the Nurse who was relieving me everything I needed to pass on. I did end up taking medication for anxiety after many years of struggling with this & it helped greatly so I know how you feel about that. Of course I also love to knit as well & I feel like I always have to have knitting in my hands all the time. I do have two grown sons that I love dearly but always missed having a daughter but now I have 4 granddaughters & two grandsons. I love your podcasts. Thank you for sharing all your makes & all your animals!!

Hi there Paula; I think you are a great signer when you do sing on some of your clips on your videos. You should never be ashame of any kind of health issues. I suffer from a lot of depression, anxious, panic-attacks, and other health issues. I think that takes a great person to tell others in the world that they too have health problems. I commend you for the awesome decision to talk about it. We need more people like you in the world. You are a very amazing women. Thank you very much for sharing some more information about you.

It was lovely to hear you had a nice restful day with your family, and to listen to you talk about yourself for a bit. I'm on anti-anxiety medication too, though I'm still trying to find which one works best for me. I agree with you that it should be viewed as just any other medicine, and I really appreciated hearing you talk about that kind of stigma. For me, I use a lot of different methods to help manage my anxiety, over time I've figured out what works and what doesn't. Medication is one of my tools for helping me lead a good life, and it's really nice to be able to look back and see how much better I've got at dealing with my anxiety in the last few years.

I'm new to your channel so I found today's vlog very interesting, we have a lot of likes and dislikes in common. My daughters (aged 23 and 26) both take a low dose of anxiety medication and so does my husband (no, it's not a result of living with me!) I can see the difference in them since they've taken it. I'm enjoying watching your past vlogs, I enjoy sewing and I'm just getting into knitting. I also like reading and the royal family.

💐 Paula, I’m ALWAYS disappointed when you stop talking!!!😊. Thank you so much for telling about the anxiety. I also take daily medication for it, but mine doesn’t help and my doctor won’t give me anything stronger. I’m in the US and they are getting fanatical, at least where I am, about medication. My husband was a pharmacist for 40 years and certainly agrees with the need for proper meds. Anyone who is critical and judgmental about it probably hasn’t experienced similar! I’m with you absolutely on having to knit every day! Except I can only knit plain blankets. I could learn to knit other things, but I would have to count and read directions and I do it to relax and for therapy. Our animals (really the ones who own the house and we are just their most devoted slaves!❤️) have many knitted blankets on their beds. My youngest baby cat who is just over a year old could pass for a twin for you little Ian! She came into our back yard and I am crazy about her!!! So glad I get to hear your little visit every day this month! It so makes my day! ❤️😊🌸

When I was little, my father and step-mother always got my older-sister, my step-sister and myself the same thing. My sister got it in purple, my step-sister in yellow and me in pink. Since I was the youngest, I always knew what I was getting before I got it. Pink was always my favorite color but I came to despise it because of that. Thankfully 30 years later, I have come to find my love for pink again.

Totally, totally, totally agree with you about medication. As you say, if you were a diabetic you would take meds for it, if you had a thyroid deficiency and you were prescribed thyroxin, you would take it, so why not meds for a chemical deficiency or imbalance?? I think it’s because it’s connected to the mind so looked upon as a mental deficiency of some sort! I personally don’t think of it that way and without my meds I would not be able to get out of bed physically or cope with life as well as I do mentally, with my meds I cope better than most people, in fact friends bring me their problems as they think I give good advice and am balanced! So there lol !!

You would love it where I am in Canada because at any given time there is at least one bunny on our lawn! Medicines are necessary for a lot of things. I have chronic depression and without my meds I am a completely different person. My mom use to say I was much more sociable with my meds. Hello, really enjoying your October vlogs. I've been following you for a little while now and think your Vlogmasses are always the best ones on KZbin. How long have you been vlogging and what made you start?

I agree that conditions like anxiety should be spoken about. One feels so alone but in fact there are multitudes of people suffering. I'd be interested to know the name of the medication that works so well for you. Thanks for sharing so much of yourself. Happy knitting. Judy, Nelson Bay, Australia.
