Electrifying - at the time I saw this on my grandfathers tv 📺 I was 4 years old. I remember the grown ups... you couldn't talk to them while this was going on :)

Matusevich from Soviet Union would probably won it,had he not fallen at 500 m,42 sec would secure him a gold medal. Pity,he was in best form of his life that year,won the European all-around.

The Finns and esp the Danes don't speed skate anymore.This is such old film,its neat but I bet most of the ppl in this are dead.Its fun to see them ready to race and afterwards.

+64fairlane359 I've seen the outside of Bislett and the inside of Valley Hoven.I attended a race in VH in Feb of 1987,it was so cold.I have also seen the outside of the oval in Hamar.I've met Knute Johananssen,Eric Heiden and Dan Jansen.I never got to meet Bonnie Blair but saw her race in a old indoor rink in Calif in 1979.That was strange to see that in an old indoor rink,esp almost 40 years ago.
