VMan (Alessandro Venturella) from Slipknot is using the Bass Butler Pre-Amp on stage and in the studio with metal band Slipknot. The Bass Butler is a whole van-load of gear in a box! Splitting your signal at the input, the Bass Butler features two completely separate, parallel, analogue signal chains, just like a real bi-amp rig. The difference is there’s not an amp in sight.

He worked as a tech before, he did Mastodon, Coheed and Cambria and some other bands. But I guess when you're in Slipknot and have the resources, you hire a guy and make your life easier.

@@alanheyes694Yes, he also does those things himself (if I remember correctly he built the rackmounts for himself, Root and Thomson) but in a band like Slipknot as a musician you need a tech to help you manage all your gear. Tech is also needed during the shows to switch to back ups incase something breaks and in many bands they also handle the effects that the musician uses and obviously smoothen out the performance by being ready with the next instrument the musician needs.

The End, So Far is full of moments that allow V-Man, Jay, and even Pfaff to show off exactly how talented they really are. There are tons of beautiful little bass runs in "Adderall", "The Dying Song" (the pull-off bass run before the breakdown in this song may be my favorite moment of bass wizardry on the album), "The Chapeltown Rag", and "De Sade" which opens with a tasty little emotional bass solo. Never mind that the verses to "Acidic" are just drums, bass, and vocals. As important and as special as the original line-up of Slipknot was and always will be, this current lineup of the band is unbelievably talented, and they've delivered an album in The End, So Far that - while it isn't perfect - is populated by moments of brilliance, and is an album for which the band should be extremely proud, and I'm anxious for what Slipknot's future holds.
