I've always been confused on the relationship VMP has with other blower companies. What is the difference with a Whipple blower with a VMP badge on it? Cheaper materials for a discounted cost? could you clear that up at all?

Whipple head unit, so rotor package. VMP will design their own other things like snout and inlet neck and intercooler brick design/placement.

@@BC08 they used a supercharger dyno. When comparing the 2650 rotor pack to the 3100 they saw no advantage because the extra horsepower that the 3100 made it used to drive the larger rotors. So more strain on the crank snout for no measurable gain in performance.

Still skeptical with this partnership (no different than you and Magnuson) but unlike Magnuson, you brought the TVS to the aftermarket Ford market; unfortunately, Whipple has always been here... So, is there even a market for VMP in the TS 'Whipple' side of things? I feel if you wanted to get into the TS world, I would have like to see a 'revamping' of Kenne Bell superchargers. With your enthusiasm, knowledge and engineering background, I am sure you could have come out with an incredible unit utilizing the intercoolers on top to combat Whipple. Again, combat. We need more choices, Justin! Furthermore, Kenne Bell is still a well-known name in the aftermarket industry, even though their cooling setups aren't on par with today -and I am sure some will disagree. But, nonetheless, offering another Twin-Screw s/c to the community would have been a lot nicer than just jumping onto the bandwagon and making a new 'lid' and calling it a VMP. At least with Kenne Bell you could expanded your true visions and tied in with a name to a company which has been around for decades.

They tend to be in the 70-72% efficiency range (on a compressor map) The Whipple (lysholm twin-screw supercharger) is the only s/c that matches a turbo in the 79-82% mark on a compressor map. Don't confuse it with the roots style s/c that may externally apparat similar (take edelbrocks kit). Those operate differently and the efficiency is garbage. 65% at best. The Whipple is just a brilaknt supercharger design. Not to mention simple to install. I've pulled and out back on dozens on my cars. Doesn't mean it's better than a turbo. No lag - but the turbo will make more power net, just because it's not belt driven and no parasitic losses. Yet for heat and power made compressor vs compressor the same. Personally - unless you are trying it set some huge record or time. Just get a Whipple - installs in a few hours and call it a day. Turbo kits are always a nightmare - unless it comes from the factory with one l you're upgrading. 3.0 wjipple on say a mustang gt / s550 tuned will make 900rwhp all day - air fuel in a safe range. It takes the place of the upper intake. It's capable of 1400hp or 30psi with bigger heads or on another platform.

Hopefully vmp can fix the whipple gen 5 3.0 defects.....ordered mine for my 19 challenger hellcat redeye and waiting over 6 months with no ETA....so canceled and was hit with a $700 cancelation fee....so put vehicle back together and trying to find a different route to go since now have a bad taste for whipple 😮

I’d absolutely die to see VMP, Whipple or Eaton come out with a “Kit” for every old school roots ‘71 series blower owner to convert to a TVS, or screw rotor system in their existing case! Whipple went and made the W510R that’s a screw version of a ‘71 series roots, but who wants to scrap their $4,500 plus roots they already own to buy a $6,800 new blower..? NO ONE! Why can’t a TVS rotor pack be manufactured, and a “shoe” for the top if needed and an insert for a delta on the bottom… Need to make roots blowers great again! I’m not the guy to pioneer it… There’s probably 8 times the amount of roots blowers out there than there are people with “new style” roots and screws…

Did you get a chance to ask them why their warranty is ONLY 1 year compared to others like Magnuson with a 3 year, etc??!! Whipple has not been doing a job lately on quality with lots of issues - just do a simple Google search and read ALL the forums! I'm not bashing, I'm actually very upset! I was 100% set on going Gen 6 Whipple 3.0 on my 2021 Durango RT, Tow N Go painted in red!!! Now I'm going Magnuson.
