One of the forgotten yet decorated keepers of all time. The first real sweeper keeper that ever played consistently from the back in that Rijkaard/Pep eras before the likes of Barthez, Van Der Sar, Joël Bats & Neuer. After the unique sextuple season 08/09 few years later the rest of the world started to follow what Valdez did back then & throughout his entire career as an adventurous & the original sweeper keeper. Always overlooked globally/internationally because of the presence of the legendary Iker Casillas & the top backup second choice Pep Reina. Victor wasn’t known for having power, physical strength but good reflexes, courageous & bravery to be so confident to play from the back & distribution which brought so much success to F.C Barcelona. The man has more Champions Leagues than Zubizarreta & Ter Stegen combined together. He shut down Thierry Henry at his prime in 2006 champions league final with two one on one situations & a third effort from outside the penalty area. Managed a clean sheet in 2009 final against United as he kept Cristiano shooting blanks & couldn’t pass him while Rooney scored an offside goal two years later in yet another Victor came out victorious with his third Gold medal 🥇 🥇 🥇.

El prototipo del portero moderno siempre al límite por las exigencias de jugar en el barca tremendo una pantera para el rechace múltiple..reposicionandose en milésimas de segundo y siempre ( prácticamente) sabiendo donde está el balón y tal vez el mejor bloqueador que recuerde.....grande!!
