Hello Wanda & Ricky and welcome to Voice of Baceprot! They grew up in a small, rural, conservative village in West Java Indonesia. As daughters of farmers, and devout Muslims, they had limited future options outside of early marriage or working in a store/shop. Dissatisfied and rebellious from an early age, they discovered rock/metal music and had their lives changed forever. Finding inspiration and freedom, they formed a band, overcame many difficult obstacles (some life-threatening), worked very hard, and have now reached the world stage (two European tours, a newly released album, and a US tour next month). All their original songs have strong social critiques, who they are is as important as what they play!

They are doing their 1st US tour in August. They are from Indonesia and apparently have been criticized for playing metal by some conservative Muslims in Indonesia. Baceprot means something like "disruption" in Sudanese the language in their part of Indonesia.

I would suggest you react to "Kentut Merdeka" is an original song of theirs. Shoebox Studios version has the best audio. The song takes you on a euphoric rollercoaster of music and harmony (they sing in their language but the flow and sound of song make you not care because its that good. Harmonic).
