You're right that David Guetta released a song titled "Love Don't Let Me Go" back in 2006, but that's where the similarities end, Elizabeth. Totally different lyrics and music. This is an Angelina original. I love your descriptions of Angelina's voice and singing ability and how she has refined her craft over the years. I think you are totally right that Angelina makes it all look and sound "effortless!"

Hi Elizabeth - love your reactions, especially for Angela. I recently listened to your reaction of Unchained Melody by Booby Hatfield and this version has always been a big favourite of mine. However, I recently discovered AJ's version of this which she sang with the KORK orchestra at last year's Noble Peace Prize presentation. It is absolutely beautiful. Angelina has been working on her craft for ten! years now (at 17), meaning she has had time to digest loads of music and styles and has a vast pool to pull from when it comes to creating her own personal interpretations of music. Lovely analysis Elizabeth, I absolutely loved it. This EP it's so intense and passionate, I still can't decide which song to prefer... but as usual with Angelina, the result is, obviously all of them. She is absolutely stunning in vocal talent and technique but also with her wonderful lyrics, is of one uniqueness so evident and her voice is so incredibly captivating and piercing! I love her fantastic ability to mix old and new in music, is another of her amazing features. This is Angelina's original, she's not only a world class singer. She said that she has 100 songs written and had to pick a few for this EP. She's with her sweet grandmother in the car. I think she's a magnet for skilled musicians and producers. I'm completely in love with her voice and lyrics. My only regret is I will not be able to see her entire career, being 50 years old. Late at night many years ago I got lost in a youtube rabbit hole and landed on this little girl with an unbelievable voice. Most child singers have a sound that gives away their age. But with this girl she had such an eerily magical tone that had no right to be produced by such a young singer. I was hooked on the sound instantly. I can't wait to see where her voice takes her. Once upon a time, in the land of the Norse gods, was born a girl blessed with the gift of song. Properly given the name, Angelina Jordan Astar, she would listen to music every available moment, embracing the story each song told. Angelina was able to hear every note and vocal technique used in a song, then create her own version. Lovingly placing her dolls on the couch, to be her audience, she would perform concerts, honing her craft. The emotions Angelina felt from each song were deep and moving. She sang in order to have the listener feel and understand the emotions she felt. At age 6, Angelina befriended a shoeless orphan girl about her age, who desired to become a doctor but confided in Angelina it would never happen since she had siblings who needed her to simply survive. Angelina told the orphan to never give up hope and to always pursue her dreams. Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the orphan girl, saying the shoes no longer fit her. Sometimes a little white lie is needed. The orphan girl, so thankful for the gift, asked Angelina what she desired to be in life. Angelina said she wanted to sing for the entire world. The orphan girl, who Angelina gave the name Princess, said she would pray every day for her dream to come true. Angelina, told her, when on stage, I will always perform barefoot, to remind me of you and all the children like you who can't afford shoes or clothes. Angelina began her on stage career at age 7 performing for her home country and went on to sing on big stages at age 13 and 17, for audiences numbering in the millions each time. With each performance she gained new fans, who Angelina calls her angels. One would think after performing for such large crowds, she would become well known among the billions around the world, but that was not the case. The world had become a very busy place, with countless ways of learning about new artists. Her angels were inspired to spread the love they felt by listening to her music and knowing her story, and did the best they could to introduce their favorite musical artist to those who had never heard of her. Many of her angels were perplexed why the recording company who signed her, was not promoting her. The reason is unknown but apparently part of this magical tale. Angelina will be promoted when the stars are properly aligned and not before. Until that time, each angel should continue to spread the love they feel from Angelina's music and introduce new people to her.

This is an Angelina original, Elizabeth. There's no doubt we can hear a little of Adele and a little of Amy Winehouse (and a few others, too) but I believe it is time to recognize the extraordinary sound that belongs to Angelina. In fact, may I ask you a question? Have you ever heard anyone who has the vocal and artistic attributes which she has? The age factor is something that we are all in awe of but it has to be dismissed when we critique what she is doing. Your commentary is wonderful and you have marveled how wonderful she has progressed as she as gotten older. But, Elizabeth, personally (and I'm not alone) I believe she is on a level right now which has lofted her to a height unreachable by most. I understand you concentrate on the musical end of what you are listening to (technically speaking) but there is so much more which is going on, isn't there? Her soulfulness touches our hearts with a love so pure she can bring tears to our eyes. She is a wonderful human being and when she gave her shoes to a unfortunate girl (who had scarred and bloody feet) about her age when she was 6 years old and decided to sing barefoot whenever she sang to people in public because she never wanted to forget that little girl and remember there are children in the world who don't even own a pair of shoes. She had these thoughts at 6 years old. She is kind, caring and loving and by touching our hearts with her love she has inspired us to be kinder, more caring and loving than we ever have been before in our lives. IT MUST be included in understanding what is going on when she sings 'for us'. Vocally and artistically she stands alone and when you add her genuine soulfulness and storytelling qualities to her performances, is there any wonder we love her so much. And, Elizabeth, this is still only the beginning. She is, right now, bursting out of her bubble and by the end of 2024 there will be tens of millions of people around the world who will discover her. Do we expect them to act any differently than we have?

I've missed your analysis videos to Angelina Jordan 🥺 They're always top-notch! All the more I've enjoyed this pleasant surprise. You've made my day 🤗 It's really interesting which path Angelina chooses; like you said, she could've gone in a completely other direction, e.g. jazz or she could've done a soft ballad in a clean tone - but surprisingly, she chose a raspier approach, which is somewhat unheard-of. People may like this style or not, in any case, I think Angelina is special.

Her being over 6 feet tall in her bare feet makes it hard to remember she is still a minor. As to this song, this is an original written by Angelina as is all the rest of the songs on the EP. The rest of the EP is as good as this or better and her lyrics are brilliant. Each has its own flavor and message and each is chart worthy.

She participated recently as a visitor to Heidi Klums GNTM singing "Valerie". From the beginning of the video kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKmWeaWVd7eYZqs you can see that she's barefooted, yet there are BTS footage of her posing afterwards with Heidi Klum (5'9½") and Sofia Vergara (5'7") who are both wearing their high heels and Angelina still towering over them. When *she* wears heels and beehive, she probably looks the tallest person in most situations easily towering something like 7 ft. 🤣

Awesome you are reacting to this performance of Angelina. A little error in the title: this is not a cover but an original :-) She released her EP ‘Old Enough’ with 6 songs on it with this being one of them. It has a retro pop feeling to me with dash of Jazz, Blues and Soul but also newer influences such as rap. It’s really awesome! In September she has a concert coming in Portsmouth NH in the Music Hall: ‘An evening with Angelina Jordan’. Last time I checked there were a few tickets still left: anyone able to go there, better be quick before someone else beats you to it! :-)
