Once again the straight males are falling for Jimin left and right. Also, J-Hope and Jimin were dancers before joining the group and J-Hope already tried rapping before as you can see in his previous auditions for JYP and Jin joined the group as a visual so Jin had zero singing and dancing experience before joining the group as a trainee. And RM and Suga were cast as rappers and Jungkook and V were cast as singers.

Even though bts rapped a lot more at first they still had singers when they debuted as a group. They always had the singers... Its just that their music had more of a hip hop bad boy vibe to it. And back then Jungkook did rap more but he still did sing just in case you didn't know. So basically bts rapped and sung from their debut. Jin,jimin,v and jungkook were always singers🤗💜💜💜

Not actually. The actual BTS was consist of only rapper including rap monster, sepreme boi and one other member... Then things changed and instead of a rap group bang pd decided to debut a hip hop based idol group...

They didn't have the singers when the group was still in the formation stage. It began as all rappers. When it was decided to debut them as an idol group, several of the rappers left and they started bringing in singers. Then they trained some more before debuting.

What Justin said was correct, they were originally a group of rappers and then they decided to go in a different direction and added singers to the group. That's how they debuted as a 7 member group with 3 rappers and 4 singers.

All Kpop idols need a backtrack even if it's quiet BTS tends to keep it quieter but it helps for when they're dancing or sick so they sound okay and don't hurt themselves or pass out

You're delusional and denying facts. I love bts, but people like you you make us look stupid. It's obvious that they lip sync at times just like almost any other artist. BTS has intense choreography and lip syncing/backing vocals is necessary. The fact that they use a lot of backing vocals doesn't mean they aren't talented, but so many armys think the mere suggestion of lip syncing is the biggest insult ever. 🙄

Lex C The tone in your reply makes us look bad more than anything. And no im not delusional. Yes every artist uses backing tracks and BTS does use them because of their choreo, but they still sing live on top of it and their backing tracks’ volume is much lower than others that I’ve listened to. When people talk about lipsync, or in the case of many criticisms towards BTS, they’re referring to artists just miming on stage and pretend to sing while its all the backing track. So thats what we are talking about here. As long as you can hear their live vocals on top of the tracks they’re not lipsyncing in that aspect. Will not go into all the technicality here, you get the gist. If you read my comment as its the biggest insult you might have brought over your pent up frustration from reading other comments maybe. Your comment itself is an insult and you never know whom you are talking to (maybe your mama’s age?) so at least be decent about it.

Let's not be ignorant and acknowledge that every K-Pop idol/group lipsyncs for performances. Denying it is useless especially with the technology we have today that can compare original audio and live audio. But, let's also acknowledge the fact that K-Pop idols NEED to lipsync due to the physical nature of their performances. Dancing while singing is really hard, everyone knows that, so it's common sense (especially in performances with a large audience) to lipsync for certain songs or at least have a small vocal track play.

You can kind of tell if there is a back track based on the quality of the sound. In this case, in some parts, Jin chose to use backing track and Jimin didn’t.

if you mean towards the end of the song it kind of makes sense. the choreography comes to a stop and they're just walking. singing after dancing is MUCH harder than singing while dancing, which is already difficult. you can even see the other members breathing hard when they're on the floor edit: not saying that there was necessarily but it's plausible and valid if so

MMA stands for Melon Music Awards which is an awards show, so they were one of the scheduled performers. Just to let you know it was actually Jungkook who lifted up his shirt and not Jimin😂. Also I think the camera guy knew that and when to shoot who obviously because of rehearsal and everything that Peyton said, but also because they probably watched previous performances of this song. BTS performed this song a couple of times before this major production, so I think that helped them have a clue on when to shoot who also. •P.S I would love to see a video where you analyze the difference in idols' singing voice and speaking voice because some of these K-pop idols can rap with an extremely deep voice while their speaking voice isn't that mellow.

I actually love that the other guy is complimenting the camera work as some people compliment the boys (rightly so) for their hard work in preparing for these award shows but they don't realise all the while the boys are rehearsing the camera and lighting crews are also doing it with them making sure all these camera angles and the stage runs smoothly throughout the set! I appreciate everyone who works hard through award season in making the shows performances so amazing

the parts with hard choero have backtrack not the whole songs and it wasnt just the fake love part, and the back track volume is very low there was times they stopped singing in the middle or their mic had problems u can hear the backtrack hardly.

Jungkook has a very deep voice and sings pretty high, Jimin's voice and singing voice actually makes sense together. Taehyung talks deep and smooth. Suga speaking voice is almost bass, might be he sings baritone and took lessons and in 2021 went from not able to sing to being amazing. J-Hope's speaking voice, singing voice and rap all sound pretty much the same. RM is a deep baritone, and he can sing so don't let the videos of him singing horrible fool you.

Jin was singing live, his voice is very stable during live performances and he is popular for sounding exactly like the studio version. Jimin and jungkook always say that Jin eats CD’s to sound exactly the same lol

Bts doesn't lip sync, they always sing live because you can hear them breathing if you listen closely. When they rehearse their songs, they don't lip sync and does it live/real and even in their dance rehearsals too.

It takes a lot of practice to sing live while dancing while you need to sound stable. Some group's train by doing planking while singing and for jungkook I know he jogs/run on a threadmill while singing.

FYI, BTS never lip synchs, ever. They often have a back track, but they sing with it. Mics stop working, crowds are super loud, lots of things can and do go wrong, so they use a back track, but they always sing live. Jungkook's shirt lift is actually part of the choreo, so it was expected. Too bad you didn't wait for the end of the song before you cut away. Missed a great ending.

Actually Jimin 'lip syncs' in one of his songs because the dance is at that part way to hard to sing at the same time [not sure which one it was, I think serendipity] but even there he isn't actually 'lip syncing' because he doesn't even act as if he sings it and he never said he does. He still got a lot of shit for it what was just rude.

Even then you can tell he tries to sing. Also there concerts go on for almost 3 hours and there setlist have cplose to 23 songs.... i think its sad when someone doesnt see BTS´s efforts.

I feel so sorry for JK! This was the main reason why JIMIN was afraid to lift his shirt for the very same reason! Everyone starts only talking about that rather then any other aspect of his performance which is exactly what is happening in this comment section! Hahaha!! Everyone is more concerned about JK's abs to be acknowledged more then anything else!!! Same thing happened when Bangtan Bomb released the BTS first Comeback performance of Fake Love at the BBMA's and in that comment section that was the only thing talked about concerning JK! But people did mention Jimin's amazing splits, st least the ones who noticed who weren't distracted by JK's abs being shown around the same time, and awesome powerful vocals while doing those popping moves which takes so much physical exertion.

Amazing thing is, BTS never lip syncs 😂 Even if they try to, they really can't, they're just that talented. Also, I'm surprised you guys didn't mention the recorded steps at the beginning of when Tae appears. Btw, you asked if that was a voice crack when Jimin was singing, he purposely makes his voice more whinier at certain parts, especially for this song, and it was JK who lifted his shirt xD Also, the BigHit Staff are like family to BTS, so they know BTS well and most likely don't need to study their faces xD

jimin does not choose to make his voice crack. there are plenty of videos of him crying after concerts back stage talking to his managers and brothers telling them his voice cracked and it ruined the performance but everyone is so supportive staff, group members and all. Theres also a video of jungkook trying to help him with it kind of giving him lessons, and later on telling the camera he wishes he could help jimin but hes not in a place where he could receive the vocal lessons. he has just learned to live with his voice cracked happening once in a while. but he definitely does not choose to do it. his voice is beautiful with a voice crack or not but it's sad because you can always tell he gets very self conscious when the voice crack happens. I've watched too many episodes of everything BTS.

@@lbeezy9416 There's only been one where he was upset backstage from what I've seen, and that was not a voice crack, nothing about it was related to a voice crack, unless you see voice cracks in a different way. Ofc Jimin has always had his insecurities about his voice, and ofc, the fact that he practically lived in the practice room once from how much he practiced. However, it is different now, it seems he's a lot more confident in himself. And if what is seen as a voice crack for you, continuously happening in every single live performance, why would Jimim purposely do it? You've heard his voice cracks before, right? It's not what he did in this performance. If you know BTS so well, you'd know that literally every ARMY knows about Jimin and his voice insecurities, you'd also know the difference between Jimin's voice cracks and adlibs, yeah?

8:36 obviously Jungkook, Jin and Suga's voices are deeper when they talk. Jimin still has the sweet tone of his singing voice, V's talking voice is surprisingly just a _little bit_ higher pitched imo. RM and J-Hope pretty much still sound the same. As a brief backgroud, this is for the Melon Music Awards which is a large scale music show in east Asia. For all events such as this, they, and all other performing artists, record a dance practice at their company with all of their nametags on which they send in to the award show producers. The producers then decide what kinds of camera angles they want to use for the live. Day of, the artists come in and one by one go through usually 2 rehearsals if I'm remembering correctly. One in which they'll give feedback on the sound and fix their mics and audio for their in-ears, and one in full costume where they will practice their camera shots and make sure they make eye contact with the right cameras at the right times. The artists are given this to look over and review before the actual live performance and certain elements such as Jungkook lifting his shirt are pre-choreographed and the cameramen and producers of the show know when to anticipate those elements of the performance. As for backing vocals, at awards shows such as this the artists are permitted a certain percentage of the track to be used as backing vocals throughout the performance and the amount depends on which show it is as well as which member they choose to use it on. For example, lead vocals get maybe 30% of their lines in the song as backing vocals whereas weaker singers may get closer to 50%. Rappers can use pre-recorded vocals at the ends of their verses to "finish it off" if they end up out of breath and cant finish the verse all the way. Again this depends on which group you're talking about, which show it's for, and which member of the group and it's all worked out before the live. All that being said, BTS are still absolutely incredible performers and at other times when their backing vocals have cut off or some other technicality occurs they are still able to put on an absolutely breathtaking show with no backing vocals whatsoever. They can do all of the performance live if need be, the backing vocals just take some of the strain and stress off them when they're performing these vocally demanding songs while doing the physically demanding choreography for them as well.

The cameramen are well versed in the routine and the best I think in the business. If you think about American music shows it is clear that we are 10 years behind in technique. If the group stomps their feet the camera guy will bounce the camera for effect. Waiting for part 2.

The camera work for most Korean performances/stages/etc. is pretty phenomenal. It's hard to watch Korean groups perform in the west because the difference in quality can be quite stark. Payton should react to more live performances like these. His insight on the camera work is really interesting to hear!
