I had to mute the song to remove a copyright claim a year after posting- I’ll likely delete this video since it’s not what i originally posted. I have unadjusted reactions on Patreon and appreciate the support of the channel for those who join - it’s been frustrating creating around copyright claims on KZbin, but if you still enjoy watching I’ll keep making them even if some have to be adjusted to remove claims I’ll keep creating. Let me know if you think I should just delete this video your feedback is helpful With love Justin

This guy is a National Treasure, a monument here in Mexico. He's one of the few artists you immediatley think when you see or hear a mariachi, as he becomes one with them. IMO he's one of the very, VERY few artists in the world who can make you feel whatever he wants you to feel regardless if you undertand the language or not: he could sing the ABC's and if he wanted to make you cry or laugh, he would. Juan Gabriel is a once in a century musician, and he is dearly missed

Fun Fact: He's just freestyling half of the time. Fun Fact: He's known to do whatever he wants. So the band must always look and hear what he does next. Fun Fact: He's one of the first artist (if i'm not mistaken) to ever combine genres together. Mariachi, Choir, Orchestra.

I found the lyrics I didn't know sadness existed, I didn't know what tears meant, These tears that make me cry, I didn't know that they existed I knew only about affection, tenderness, Because ever since I was little, That's what my mother taught me, That's what my mother taught me This and much more.. I had never suffered I had never cried I was so happy My life was great oh My life was so different, something beautiful, and divine My life was Full of happiness I knew only about joy, about the beauty of life, I didn't know about loneliness, and so many other things too I never suffered, I never cried, I was so happy....My life was great Chorus Until I...met you I started to see life with pain I'm not lying to you, I was happy, Even though with so little love, And I realized too late, That I shouldn't have loved you, Because now I think only of you, More than yesterday, much more I had never suffered, I had never cried, I was so happy... Until I met you Now I want you to tell me Whether it was worth or not the trouble Of meeting you Because I don't believe you anymore And you were so bad Yes, you were so bad to me That's why I never want, I never want to see you Leave, leave, go... go away, I don't want you I never want to see you again Leave

I was sooo excited to see that you reacted to this performance! Even though it's an old one from the 90's It's one of my all time favs. Justin I know exactly how you felt when the emotion hit, that exact moment in the performance gives me chills every single time. I have this live album on my apple playlist, and I love belting out in my car during that part😆 Juan Gabriel was so great and such a diva lol

The best concert that I have ever been to!! His ancores where almost never ending!! You totally felt all the love in the stadium!! EVERYONE knew and sang all the songs along with him in unison!! Juan was/is the GOAT!!

Juan Gabriel....the name says it all. He is going to take you on a journey. At the beginning of this song it felt like lightning strikes going through my soul. His voice makes one's heart rate increase. My only regret is never experiencing his music live. He was also a prolific composer, often writing music for others. He is truly a gift from Mexico. I just hope more and more people listen to his music. They will instantly become fans. His legend will only grow.

It's been a while since the video was published, but I think this hasn't been mentioned: this particular performances (the concerts at Mexico City's Performing Arts Palace of 1990) are Juan Gabriel's crowning achievement. For years, and even today, it's been debated if there is a difference between the "high arts" (classical music, opera, theather...) and folk music (folk songs, pop songs, polkas...); back in the day, Juan Gabriel was already famous for being a mexican show man... for the masses. As always happens, some sectors found pride in saying they didn't partake in those popular performances and the topics of his songs. Then, the current head of Ministry of Culture decided to book Juan Gabriel for the main stage of the Performing Arts Palace, the most important stage in the city (if not in the whole country); and the sectors who took pride in not meddling with "popular culture" went bonkers: hate mail and public letters in some of the most important newspapers were published asking the concerts to be cancelled and the dismissal of the people who allowed the idea in the first place. But the concerts weren't cancelled and no body was dismissed; the performance took place and (as one public official at the time recalled, later on in interviews) many of the people asking for the cancellation of this event ended up going to see it... and dancing to this particular song. "The trip of this song" Juan Gabril ad libs a lot; some of his performances would need to be watched in other languages with subtitles because he liked to add entire sections of lyrics that were not in recorded version. After all, they were his songs, he knew where to make a bracket XD. But also, we could say his songs can be divided in different ways: those that exorcise painful experiences (the ones that begin sad, but rise to a more cheerful mood) and those that express sadness (the ones that stay sad all the time; because they are to process the sadness, not to rise above it... yet); and, of course, since mexican music in the 1970's wanted also happy hits, his catalogue has pop catchy songs too XD. But yeah, his most classic works take you in an (almost) effortless emotional trip. "He is the guy who would do a three hour encore" Well... he actually did; but not in a concert XD. Two years before, in 1988, Juan Gabriel was invited to a late night show called "Not a bad night" (Mala noche... ¡No!). The script was expected to be the usual: an interview, a couple of songs, some silly intermissions and done, all within the hour. The host (mexican actress Veronica Castro) and Juan Gabriel began the program at 22:30 of August 31, and ended at 7:00 of September 1st (yep, they kept generating content and performances to extend the program for EIGHT HOURS until the following morning... and people stayed awake to see the whole show; that's why the network allowed them to keep going).
